Chapter 20Sheppard and Haley hadn’t said a word for what seemed like an eternity. In reality, it was less than ten minutes before the sirens were audible.

“They still have to climb sixteen flights of stairs.”

Sheppard turned his head to make eye contact. “Special Agents Sheppard and Haley, FBI.”

“We think so. We haven’t sighted it, but Haley felt a depression when she stepped on the piece of floor that she’s currently on and heard a click.”
