Chapter 29Sheppard threw himself forward, laying one arm high over Haley’s chest and the other over her abdomen. He held enough weight over his arms that his feet were barely touching the ground, but he still struggled to keep Haley from thrashing about.
“Doc, What the f**k is happening?”
The paramedic frantically pulled an epi pen out of a drawer and stabbed it into Haley’s upper thigh. “She seems to be having a severe allergic reaction. Do you know if she has any allergies?”
“Wouldn’t have a clue, Doc. We just got paired up this morning. What have you given her?”
“The only thing I’ve given her so far is fentanyl for the pain. She could be allergic to it.”
