Chapter 48Sheppard entered the seventh floor conference room to find that Riley had not only beaten him there, but he had managed to get his hands on significant amounts of intelligence. Sheppard had apparently fallen behind in the investigation in a matter of only a couple of hours. He was now playing catch up.
“What have we got?”
Riley turned around from the smart board to meet eyes with Sheppard. “Nice of you to finally join us.”
“Yeah, it’s been a busy day. Where’s Arturo?”
“Taking a call. How’s Haley doing?”
Sheppard took a chair at the end of the conference table, leaning back. “She’s out of surgery and in recovery. It’ll probably be a couple of hours before she’s awake again, and she’ll most likely be out of action for a few months.”
Riley nodded and turned back to the board.
