Chapter 56Haley woke up to find she wasn’t alone in her private room. She always felt a little uneasy about people being in the same room as her without her knowledge. She figured it was something to do with growing up as an only child. The uneasiness only lasted for the few moments it took for Haley to recognize the person who was plugging something in. “So, is this enough of an excuse to wipe out my mortgage?” Sophie continued working as she spoke. “From what I hear, Comet, you’re getting a pretty decent paycheck for sitting on your ass.” “Humph, and good morning to you. What’s the time?” “About eight.” “I haven’t slept this late since I was a teenager, and since when do you ever wake up this early?” “I never wake up this early. I’m still going from last night.” Haley was shocked.
