Elise's POV The rogue camp was not what I expected. I observed it from where I was sitting, under the shade of a dry tree, my back resting against its rough bark. The faded canvas tents were scattered across the clearing, some held up by makeshift wooden poles, others barely resisting the wind. The wolves moved back and forth, mostly silent, focused on their tasks. There was no chaos. No savagery. They weren’t the brutal army I had always imagined. My gaze drifted toward Kael, who stood on the other side of the camp, speaking with a group of his men. His relaxed yet firm posture, the way the others looked at him with genuine respect, not fear.
