Elise´s POV The slope was steep, covered with twisted roots and loose rocks that crunched underfoot. Around me, the rogues moved with an ease that made me feel clumsy, though my legs, powered by my gift, responded better than I expected. In the distance, beyond the dense vegetation, the camp came into view. "We’re almost there," Kael said as he walked beside me, showing no signs of exhaustion. His tone was calm, almost casual, but his eyes were always sharp, as if he expected an attack at any moment. When we finally crossed the tree line, the landscape changed. The terrain opened into a clearing surrounded by hills, hidden between cliffs and rocky outcroppings. Wooden cabins stood in an irregular pattern, but not chaotically.
