Lucian’s POV The cold of the night seemed to seep into my bones as we followed the trail. My eyes were fixed on the ground, on the uneven marks the wheels of Elise’s chair had left in the mud. At first, the path was clear, but with each step, the terrain grew more difficult, and the tracks began to fade.
