Elise’s POV  The relief of having returned barely lasted a second. I saw Kael standing among the rogues, his expression calm, but his arm covered in blood. A moment later, I noticed the claw marks on his chest. My stomach clenched. “What happened to you?” I rushed to him immediately. “It’s nothing.” Kael barely frowned. “Nothing?” I stopped his attempt to move. “You’re bleeding.” “I’ll heal.” I didn’t believe him for a second.
