Lucian’s POV The office was dimly lit, illuminated only by the faint light filtering through the curtains. The documents on the desk in front of me looked disorganized, even though I knew they weren’t. Invitations, guest lists, orders for the ceremony… everything perfectly in place, as always. But my mind, on the other hand, was chaos. I tried to focus on what was in front of me. The wedding to Morgana. A strategic union. The stability of the pack. The right thing to do. But the name that shouldn’t have been there kept circling in my thoughts, like an echo I couldn’t ignore. Elise. I ran a hand over my face, letting out a heavy sigh. Why couldn’t I get her out of my head? It had been weeks since I’d last seen her, and yet something about her still unsettled me. She had changed.
