It has been months since their last encounter.
After her cousin's wedding, she had been in hiding with her son in the Hua family's vacation house secluded on the mountain in the human world.
She even dared to reach out to the dreamweaving fairies to purchase a formation for barriers, she wanted to trick humans, demons, fairies and deities.
On an alcove overlooking the beautiful view of the garden, Hua Chun Meili lied like a lazy cat on the mahogany floor, enjoying the peace and quietness for the nth time.
'How many months has passed already since I came into this world. Being dump into the Netherworld to become a scheming b***h's victim. Then became a fairy for no reason, carried a demon's son for months and cared for him, and now, secluded in the human realm for months trying to protect my child. Hah~ I wanna strangle that deity who pushed me into this world! If ever I see him I'll tie him then torture him for months! I am missing my family, especially the technology! Oh my gosh, I miss my phone and of course the most important of all WiFi! Kuhhh!'
The little bun looked at his serene mother while playing with Kun who had turned back into his original form, a white fox.
They were playing tag on the wide garden, but seeing how her facial expression drastically changes every second, the little bun was rather worried.
Her face at first was peaceful then it became serious, then sad, then it became vicious than she suddenly turned angry. She twisted her handkerchief and unsatisfiedly bit it then pulled it whilst stomping her foot.
He still remembered his mom in the banquet of his aunty. Huffing, dishevelled and was crazily running, while carrying him as ifscorpions and devils were following her.
She then ordered the fairies at the Hua household to pack and tried to convince him they would go on for a vacation.
He never questioned it because he wanted to play in the human realm, but the longer they stayed his rationality returned and he started to be suspicious to his mother.
"Mother, father is-" Before he could even end his query his mother became jumpy and cut him off.
"Yiqie, how's your stay in the mortal realm?"
He frowned upon seeing how she evaded the question, his suspicion about the reason they were in hiding was indeed because her mother definitely met his Father.
He squat with his back turned against Hua Yiqie, and his hand started to draw circles on the ground. He really misses his father, he is annoyed at this hiding, but he tries to understand that his mother is like shy rabbit. Plus, he doesn't understand how adults think so he could only watch.
"Mother, can I go and play at the town?" he asked while pulling Kun..
"Uhm. But... Never cause a racket like you always do or I will whack your sorry butt!" she seriously threatened, which sent shivers on him.
No one can make him fearful, except his mother.
"Now Kun, look after Qieqie or I will break. Your. Neck..," she reminded while glaring at Kun who was sweating like waterfalls.
"Kunn~," the fox hurriedly nod then he transformed into a young caretaker.
"Now return back home before nightfall alright or I'll whack your sorry butts!"
Hua Yiqie happily pulled Kun out with quick steps, scared that she would change her mind.
"Kun you better listen to me and don't steal chickens again in your human form!" He lectured the fox.
"But master those chickens look at me on my eyes and they were like 'Come and eat me I am perfectly delicious'!" Kun squealed like a girl, as he kept on patting his master's back like a woman getting tingles.
"You better just keep your hands off those chicken or I'll whack your sorry butt!" He mimicked his mom's threat.
Reaching the capital, it was quite lively!
People were gathered around the streets, stalls were open and people were advertising their products.
The young boys were curious about the reason of their gathering, they squeezed themselves into the crowd.
"The general conquered again and brought peace in the borders!" A man gossiped to the man beside him.
"I heard he took out the leader on his own when the night engulfed the day. He sneakily went into the enemies camp and took the leader's life without anyone noticing!"
"How brave!" the folk's gossip.
Upon hearing the horses hooves, the people wildly cheered for the safe return of the warriors who protected their lands.
Drums were loudly played, as performers danced and fire crackers were wildly lit.
Kun and Hua Yiqie were hiding in an invisible cloak, as they both watch the grand parade in awe, flowers were being thrown in the air.
The crowd was too hyped, Hua Yiqie was pushed out of the invisible cloak and into the road.
Little Yiqie forgot to hide his horns and purple eyes, his appearance scared the horses, they began to act out of control.
"Ahh the child's going to be hurt!" someone panicked.
Little bun was actually focused on finding his snack, upon hearing the panicked voice, he hurriedly changed his appearance.
He dazingly stared at the horse that wanted to stomp him to death, his eyes twinkled upon remembering someone, "Blue!"
"Where did that child come from?!" the crowd went hazy in fear for the life of the child.
Kun tried to jump and grab his master, but someone is faster than him, a stranger, he was even spooked because the stranger looked at him with a smile.
'He can see me?!'
Hua Yiqie was about to jump into the horse and gave it a big hug when someone dashed to pull him away. He pouted in disappointment, but upon seeing a good looking face he decided to let it go.
"Thank you," he gave a sweet smile.
"Be careful next time."
"What is your name, Uncle?" he politely asked.
"Sen....Shu Sen," he replied.
The child tried to repeat his name, and Shu Sen's smile deepened upon seeing the resemblance.
"Shu Sen... Uncle Sen," his adorable face turned even cuter when he smiled.
'What a lovely son that resembles her, I won't mind.'
However their greetings was interrupted when a man in armor walked to them, catching the attention of the child.
'Tsk.'
Hua Yiqie could feel a faint aura of his father surrounding the man in armor, he hurriedly wiggled out of Shu Sen's arms and shamelessly jump onto the arms of the soldier.
Little Yiqie pulled up his acting skills and looked at the soldier holding him with teary eyes, "Mister."
His pitiful gaze caught the man off guard, he was rather intrigued because even though the crowd couldn't see how the child was saved. He witnessed how the child was sent flying as if the wind was pulling the child.
What more, the child was smiling and talking to himself!
He must be really exhausted!
Hua Yiqie turned and was about to thank Shu Sen, but was shock to see him gone leaving him disappointed, however it turned even worse upon looking at the road.
His favourite snack squashed by those horses!
It was made by his mother once in a blue moon and letting her make it again would be impossible, even if he goes on a hunger strike, this time he wasn't trying to pull any act when big fat tears rolled on his cheeks.
The soldier thought the little guy was scared and lost. Judging from his clothes, he came from a well-off family, so he deduced that maybe he got separated.
However, in little bun's case, he is crying for the mantou!
"Sir we better go to the General's manor!" a soldier reminded.
He gestured his comrade he would follow whilst his gaze still locked on the child.
"Boy," he called out and tried to get him out of his arms, but he was in distress upon hearing him complain.
"Mantou! Ah, my mantou!"
He looked around and found a stall selling a mantou, he bought one and gave it to the boy as he gently pat him.
He then returned and mounted on his horse, "Watch for the kid until a caretaker appears." He knew that rogues appear in the city to abduct young children to be traded as slaves to other countries, thus he decided to leave one men.
Hua Yiqie stared at the soldier who was guarding him, "Mister, would you like some mantou? Though it isn't as delicious as my mother's, it is still yummy!"
The soldier chuckled at his cuteness, but he couldn't help but take another look at the child.
'He looks like the spitting image of that person,' he couldn't help but compare.
"Forward!" the man ordered imposingly as they ride their way back to the manor.
"Master!" Kun tearfully jumped to Hua Yiqie and gave him a big hug, "There you are!"
"Kun, the horse was scary!"
The soldier really wanted to give him a comforting pat.
"It trampled my mantou, ah~."
"....." Ah, he takes it back. The child is a foody, he was eating three mantous whilst complaining on a one piece of mantou that got squished.
Kun looked at the soldier and gave a thankful bow for watching over the master of his.
"Mister," little Yiqie hurriedly gave a crane made out of a cherry blossom, "Thank you."
As the soldier watch the boys disappear in the crowd he couldn't help but look around, it was indeed near spring, what a cute and sensible child.
'He is the total opposite of that man, ah!'
As the two boys roam around the city, they decided to visit a temple, hoping to find an earth fairy who manages the temple and play with him/her.
As mortals came in and out of the temple, the cheeky brats were off running around playing to the temple grounds whilst chasing a small fairy who manages the temple, they wanted to catch the small fairy and tie her down, so they could play with her, since the fairy refuses to play!
After exhausting themselves, Hua Yiqie sat near the temples well, whilst he waits for Kun to bring snacks.
Suddenly, he felt someone poke his cheeks and he was surprised to see a familiar face,
"Uncle Sen!"
"Would you like to play around?"
"Thank you, Uncle, but I'm waiting for Big brother Kun to bring snacks!"
"Then, why don't we try to find him?"
Gruu~
Hua Yiqie excitingly pulled Shu Sen's sleeve, he needs food!

Entering another room he bowed and greeted the lady of the house.
"Madam! Something happened to general!" he reported making the beautiful woman, on the verge of her thirties, to stop sewing. She frantically pulled him to sit down and ask what happened.
"We were attacked by spies on the road. We were about to win when someone used poison on us. The General made us all escape while he blocked off the enemies telling us we have to report this to you!"
"Ying! Send an army to look for the general," she ordered.
"We must not let the royal family know about this, since there are spies in the palace. If the information about my son going missing were to leak, the enemy will take advantage of this, so remember we must move quietly!"

Shu Sen let him sit on a bench as he strictly instructed, "Wait for uncle here."
When the man left Kun hurriedly appeared.
"Master why did you leave me! Did you know how many hours I have been searching for you! Mistress would kill me if I lost you!" he cried while hugging and shaking him.
"Kun! We must go its nearly dusk! We've played enough mama would kill us!" he panicked upon realizing the time.
Before Hua Yiqie could dash he remembered the kind uncle and look at the blooming cherry trees.
He used the invisible cloak to hide himself before he casted a spell, the pink petals slowly formed into a small rose.
They then were crazily running back home like their butt was on fire.
Meanwhile, Shu Sen came back holding a snack on his hand, but he smiled upon seeing a familiar type of magic.
"Just like her mother, but opposite."
Back then Hua Chun Meili showed her rejection by using her powers to created a mandarin duck and a butterfly, using flower petals, to show that his love will remain unrequited, then the following day he receive a golden crest made out of the petals of sunflower, symbolizing spring, but the undertone was her telling him he should make a new beginning and forget about the past.
"She is quite artistic, her son gets it from her," the little bun's action actually made him remember the reason why he loves her... she was considerate.
"My feelings to possess you is getting stronger."
