Episode 2: Master If you factor out death, the only failures in life are psychological, it’s all up in your head, think about it, factor out death and you would see that in life, the only failures are psychological, while this does not mean that you will always win, it certainly shows that as long as you are alive, failure remains failure only if you allow it, so long as you are alive, it can still be rectified, that’s what you were taught back in Meherres but it’s sadly not so, when you get inside the maze, just one mistake could certainly effortlessly cost you your life and its even much worse on the battlefields against those monsters with their machines but I believe that you can do this, I trust in you son. That’s what Master Malak had said to me before I took the Khatir trials, now he could only look on in horror as I emerged, oddly without a scratch, also, I had not been there over two days, I had passed tests that take months in less than two days but that was definitely why he looked at me in such a manner, like I said, he looked on in horror, not particularly in shock, was it because I had emerged with three types of a creature that was certainly believed to not even exist, no, that’s not it, there was something more bizarre about my emergence, it was odd enough that I emerged with more than one weapon, the horrific thing was the type of weapons I had gotten from the river, of the seven mythical weapons believed to only be handed out by the river to the seven most skilled Melato Masters, I was in possession of three and to be honest, I was probably undeserving of even one, the type of abilities that came with these weapons made it near impossible to defeat their wielders, the nature of these weapons would also come in handy now, thing is that the weapons only respond to their original wielders, so, if anyone took them from me, they would turn on that person, also, if I was to somehow die, unless I bequeathed the weapon to an apprentice of mine, it returns to the river, never to be touched again, the chains of hell gave the wielder an ability called immortal fire, to put it simply, I could now summon and control fire that can’t be extinguished unless I order it to, let’s not forget the crazy things I would probably be able to do with the chains in combat too since they also granted me immunity to fire. Anyone who wears the gloves of death take parts of their opponents soul with each strike they land, huge chunks of the opponents souls, so much that four strikes would kill an average Melato Master. The oceanic blades of victory grant immense water abilities that are actually beyond dangerous, I could also fuse my fire and water together to create c*****e on the battlefield, although the blades were two katanas, I was really good at sword-fighting so it was not much of a drag. Someone else was there though, Khalil, my brother, we shared none of our parents but he was my brother nonetheless, after all, family is who you'd die for, not neccesarily who you're born with, I would never have believed it if I had not seen it myself, he had also taken the Khatir trials, after all, why did he have the cloak of evil and the blade of chaos, he had surely taken the trials, he had gotten two over-powered weapons but he was worried about mine, just like him, caring too much about me. I felt horrible for him though, Khalil had one of the worst childhoods ever, we all had terrible childhoods but his was over the top, his father had sexually abused and frequently r***d him along with his siblings since he was about four years of age, his mom knew about it but rather than help them, she focused her anger and disappointment on him, hurting him as much as she could, physically and mentally, he runs away from home and is kidn*pped by an ex Melato Master, you would think he was fine but hell no, he was r***d over and over again by this evil soul, eventually, he would get tired of the man's s**t, he snapped one day and crushed his skull, the Melatone Core heard what happened and recruited Khalil into the academy, he finally had stability in his life, the academy I described as hell was his first chance at peace, he did well at the academy after all, he was talented and very strong, he would eventually graduate before me, top of his class and his first mission was to end his family who were rebelling against the ninth emperor, a mission he completed flawlessly, but one that broke his soul. He had told me to never die because I was his sole connection to sanity, I was his brother, the only family he had left, I was grateful for having him my life, he had such a positive impact on my life and he was the main reason I had the strength I had now. He smiled at me and said, "congratulations o little one, my dragon King" and I replied with "congratulations o’ leader, may our enemies know no peace", we both laughed and looked at each other with respect, we had both achieved something very important, the cloak of evil granted him invisibility and the blades of chaos granted him an ability we called lava but it was mainly just him having the ability to create both fire and control earth at the same time, if people think he was powerful before, they were in for a surprise, he was unbelievably strong now and so was I, together, we shall lead the fight to end this war and bring about peace. Khalil sat my dragons down and begun to have a conversation with them, Master Malak then dragged me to the side and asked me how in hell I had three of the rarest weapons, he then asked me how I got those dragons, I told him what had happened but he was definitely unsatisfied, he dragged me and told me I could not be the child of prophecy, I just could not be. I was more concerned about how he was dragging me, I cared more about that than what he was saying, I honestly did not give a f**k about no prophecies, I was too focused on the war for that, also, had Master Malak not realised it? I was way stronger than him now, if I wanted to, I could kill him right this moment before he even blinked, he pulled harder and I snapped instantly, my Melatone charged up and I was instantly enraged, I wanted him dead, I was about to slap his head off, decapitating him instantly, but someone landed in-between us, the shock of that startled me and I instantly calmed down, if I killed a Melato Master, I would be in some deep s**t, it would be ruining my obviously bright future. Master Ezra was the one who dropped in, Master f*****g Ezra, one of the big three, one of the big three of the strongest Melato Masters, he slapped Master Malak's hands off me and instructed him to take a walk, something he did immediately. Master Ezra then smiled at me and oh hell, I saw it, I never understood it but now that he was in front of me, I saw it, he was stunningly beautiful, Master Ezra, the Master of power, beauty and style, hated by everyone who knew him and loved by everyone who did not. He was definitely the f*****g man. He congratulated me on completing the Khatir trials and went over to my dragons, he patted them, turned and told I and Khalil that we had been ordered to serve under him even though we were now officially Melato Masters, I had no problems with that but Khalil was definitely not happy about that, nothing we could do about it though, we just had to accept it. We bowed in front of him and he knighted us as his apprentices, We were now cleared to engage in combat and we were now under a Melato Master and not any Melato Master, one that belonged amongst the big freaking THREE............................................................
