Chapter_33: The Watchmaker

1318 Words
Shemyaza walked through the city streets, making himself invisible again- he didn’t want to draw any unwanted attention and moreover, his form was too majestic to be seen by everybody- he was of divine origin after all. The girl- a common p********e-that he had rescued earlier-she walked behind him like a zombie, still spellbound like a moth to a flame. He paused for a moment as he reached a busy street and took out the piece of paper that had the address written on it and handed it to the girl- “Take me here-“he said handing the paper. The girl looked at the paper and said- “That’s right around the corner of that street- follow me my Lord!” she said. The people on the street looked at her strangely; the pedestrians on the street overheard her blabbering strange words as she walked on. The green light on the street was on but she crossed the street fearlessly – thinking that her new found Lord will protect her- her goal was to fulfill her Lord’s desire, even if it meant sacrificing her life for him. The cars on the intersection almost hit her and the drivers abruptly hit their brakes- yelling at her- but she didn’t care. She kept on walking-chanting strange verses, praising her master’s name. Shemyaza followed her from behind walking majestically and frowning upon the people who were yelling at her- nobody could see him, but he didn’t like the fact that these primitive apes were yelling at her newly found disciple- so he decided to teach them a lesson. With a single wave of his right hand he sent out an energy pulse so powerful that it broke down every electronic device and car engines. The cars and vehicles on the street blew their engines and immediately broke down- the horns quieted down-even the light bulbs of the vehicles burst loudly- there was smoke everywhere. People were shocked and terrified and those with their mobile phones in their hands began to wonder why their gadgets had died on them- chaos ensued throughout the busy street while the girl crossed the street. Shemyaza looked around proudly-admiring his work. After crossing the street, the girl went through a narrow alley behind a classy restaurant followed by her Lord. “There-master- there is the shop-the one with the huge clocks in front-“she said in excitement There was another busy road up ahead and as soon as the girl stepped on the road a car came from across the street and hit her! She was thrown a few feet up in the air and landed on the ground with a thud. The car immediately sped away. The girl lay on the street with her broken and twisted body, while blood flowed out of her nostrils- she would die any second! Shemyaza was shocked and immediately ran to her rescue- he kneeled down in front of her while pedestrians on the street came running towards her. “I shall not have you die such a horrible death! Pray tell me your name-”he said touching her head emphatically. “Sarah-“she uttered, choking on her own blood. She saw her Lord and smiled- she was beginning to see his true form-Golden White and immensely bright! He was more beautiful than words could describe- she saw his majestic wings and golden flock of hair-she had seen everything now and was ready to die. But Shemyaza wouldn’t have it. He placed his hand on her pale chest and uttered some magical words- “Rise!” he commanded ” and be more glorious than ever- you have shown your allegiance and servitude towards me and I shall bestow upon you great gifts- be awake now and be stronger than ever! I will call upon you when I need you- till then celebrate your new life! ” The girl suddenly gasped for air and to the amazement of the on lookers, she stood up and looked at her self. Her master was gone-her body had fixed itself and she felt no pain- her wounds were gone and she was feeling strangely powerful and energetic. She felt brilliant and confident- and she knew that she had been bestowed a great amount of knowledge. But to her despair- she couldn’t thank her master-he had disappeared! She looked around and searched for her master-but he was nowhere to be found. Shemyaza had reached the watchmaker’s shop and found it locked. He penetrated his spirit body through the door and entered the shop. There was nobody inside except for varieties of clocks-big and small. He was greatly frustrated but he decided to wait for the man who would help him in his quest to find the Guardian and destroy him once and for all… It was about 7:30 in the evening now- Farid was sipping his evening tea and watching TV while Johnathan was in the room practicing some Tai Chi moves which Farid had taught him earlier- he said it would enforce the Qi that is already awoken in him and make him much stronger. As Farid watched the news with vague interest he saw something that caught his attention. There was a report of a strange happening in downtown Athena. The newsreader on the TV announced- “In a strange incident earlier in the city, a mysterious girl was seen walking through the busy intersection in downtown. As she passed unbothered in front of speeding cars, there was a sudden malfunction of the vehicles and it has been reported that even the phones have stopped working. It is not yet known who this woman is but an unconfirmed report by some people tells that she immediately got into some accident on the other side of the road. Police are still trying to find out what had actually happened and except for a small footage from a traffic cam, there’s no other information available…” Farid was about to take another sip from his cu, but he stopped midway when the video footage of the girl passing in front of a busy street played on the TV. He suddenly took his remote and paused the clip- he noticed something unusual- a vague blob of light following the girl from behind. Farid’s brain started to sound alarms of danger. He immediately put down the cup and rushed to call Johnathan who was busy practicing. “Johnathan! Come- look-“ he said almost dragging him out of the gym and into the TV room. “Look-“he said pointing to the TV. “Err-what am I looking at ?” asked Johnathan. “Don’t you see? He’s here-he’s close-“ replied Farid. Johnathan looked at the TV screen closely and he too saw the strange blob of light. He understood what Farid was trying to say- his enemy was venturing nearby, looking for him, there was no time to waste! As Shemyaza sat comfortably on the chair looking out of the window- he heard the door of the shop being unlocked- the watchmaker had arrived! He saw the silhouette of a man entering the shop in the darkness. The man entered the room and paused – he turned to where Shemyaza was sitting and said- “I knew you would come- but I can’t help you-“ Shemyaza stood up and looked at him from the darkness- his eyes began to glow brightly- “Choose your next words wisely-slave! I’m not someone you would like to make an enemy of-“he replied. The monotonous ticking of the clocks in the shop suddenly stopped and there was complete silence but the Watchmaker was not intimidated.
