Chapter_46: Another Witch?

1161 Words
Old Church 3:00 a.m. Johnathan was half asleep on the couch when Raven rushed in through the door. She woke up everybody and announced her findings- “I’ve got the list from him- bad news- two of the kids are already taken-”she said. Billy woke up and took the list from her. There were the names of ten kids along with their addresses. Two of them were highlighted- Amelia Longhorn and Josh Stone. Farid rubbed his eyes and looked at the list sleepily. "What do we do now? The police must be already on the scene-"asked Raven. "Yes, leave that to me- someone in the precinct owes me a favor-"replied Billy and went to make a call. He returned five minutes later with all the details of the missing cases. Farid was amazed and also worried at the same time. This Witch was not someone to be taken lightly. He had extensive knowledge on every supernatural being out there and he knew what she was capable of. "The kids were taken from inside their locked houses, all at night, while they were asleep- and both of their fathers were out for work...and guess who's been leading this case?" said Billy. "Who?" asked Farid. "Lisa! She's already onto something- wait a text message!" said Billy looking at his phone. "Strange, my source say that Lisa called emergency services and Police dispatch before her phone turned off- some policemen are heading her way-"informed Billy. "She's in trouble-I can sense it!" remarked Johnathan. "The Witch might have something to do with this- quick we need to move!" said Billy. "I got her last location, it says somewhere- around Highway 66! Oh God!" said Billy. "What's wrong?" asked Johnathan. "Weird stuff happens around that highway, haven't you heard? Now I'm sure the witch has her!" said Raven. "Dang! I'm getting my jacket- I'll find her-"said Johnathan and got ready to leave. Twenty minutes later Billy and Johnathan were driving towards the cursed highway. Raven as usual followed them on her bike. Farid stayed back to keep an eye on Dmitri. "Why does she have to get involved in all this?" Johnathan thought driving as fast as he could. It would take at least half an hour to reach the location and Johnny hoped sincerely that it won't be too late! If it is indeed the witch and it hurts even a single strand of her hair, he promised himself that he would reign down hell on the witch... Deep in the forest, in that wretched old cabin, Lisa sat motionless in fear, as Thelma, or whoever the hell she was, enchanted her with some kind of black magic, making it impossible for Lisa to move a muscle. The old hag giggled in joy as she brought in more disgusting food out from her kitchen and placed them on the table. There were animal intestines laid raw on a plate, eyeballs and guts on a bowl and the head of a moose, roasted rare. Lisa couldn't stand the sight but she was helpless. How she wished that she had never ventured into the woods all alone! "Oh! You want some? No?" laughed Thelma stuffing herself with the disgusting stuff. "Mmm- you might be wondering why you're here- well long story short, sister asked me to take care of you so that you wouldn't bother her with that missing child case you're working on and when she is done with her ritual she said I could eat you-"said Thelma giggling. "Who- What are you? How do you know about me?" said Lisa struggling to speak. "Oh I'm a witch, dear- isn't it obvious? Well I know all about you including the moment that you'd pass through this highway. I simply used a tiny bit of magic to stop your car and the rest was easy- I knew you'd enter my cabin looking for help-"replied Thelma. "What do you want with the kids?" asked Lisa. "Umm- nothing much, it is sister that needs ten of those stuffed rich kids so that she can sacrifice them and gain immortality-What? You thought there were only two? How naïve of you- the rest are being picked up one by one as we speak!" replied Thelma finishing her meal. Lisa was scared to death and disgusted by what the witch told her. She needed to get out of there but there's nothing she could do, she wished she could call Johnathan and the others, they would know how to kill this thing. But for now she was all by herself, at the mercy of this monster! She tried moving her arms but they were paralyzed, her feet were somewhat functional- "I'm thirsty!" said Lisa. "What do I care!" replied Thelma. "Well if you're gonna eat me later, you wouldn't like me so dry now would you?" replied Lisa. Thelma looked at her and grabbed the dirty glass of water and brought it close to her mouth. "Drink!" she said. Lisa brought her mouth close to the glass and pretended to drink and suddenly kicked the witch with her right leg. Thelma fell down, dropping the glass of water, letting out a terrible scream. Lisa tried standing up but fell down on the floor due to the paralysis. But she crawled somehow towards the witch and kicked her again in the stomach. Thelma cried out again in pain. Lisa thought she was winning and crawled towards the door- "Laviosa!!" yelled out the witch. Lisa was suddenly lifted from the ground by magic and placed on the table. The witch spellbound her body again, this time tighter with invisible ropes on her hands and feet. And then she picked up a knife and approached Lisa. "You sneaky little cat- I'm going to cut you into small pieces and roast you on my frying pan-"growled Thelma placing the knife dangerously close to her throat. Lisa struggled hard to get out but she could barely move. Suddenly Thelma stopped for a moment and turned her head towards the window. She was hearing footsteps approaching the cabin and immediately blew off the lamp. "Be quiet or I'll slit your throat!" she whispered. She peeped through the window curtains- two men were approaching with flashlights- local cops, they had seen the Lisa's car in the middle of the road and came looking for her. Lisa lay completely still as the witch pointed the sharp end of the knife right on her throat... Johnathan was now 15 minutes away from the said location when Farid called his phone. He picked it up and Farid's voice echoed from the other side- "Johnny, my friend, be careful- this doesn't seem to be like the work of a single witch, I think there's a Coven- I mean there could be more..." He cut the call and began to think. What was really going on with this case? Why so many witches and where are the kids? Where's Lisa?
