Chapter-67: The Wrath of God

1015 Words
"Are you sure Brother? This is really dangerous-" Farid asked Solomon. "This is nothing compared to what he's going through- imagine if Azazel takes over, he will be unstoppable-" Solomon replied. He was preparing a solution by crushing some herbs and then mixing it with some crushed bones. This along with some chanting will bring forth the demon in him and Farid would exorcise it and suppress it in Johnathan. Unfortunately there was no time for a more permanent solution that would rid the evil from his body and soul forever. It was a messy business to have such a powerful entity living inside one’s head and being able to force its way upon one’s body. “Ah! The dreaded Wrath Of God!” exclaimed Farid as Solomon took out something from a small black bag. It was a pile of fragmented bones of long dead priests who were tempted by the Devil himself and left their vows to do his bidding. The ritual was called the Wrath of God for a reason; it is said that during the old days the monks and priests who did the bidding of the Devil were severely punished by God as lightning poured down from heaven and lit their bodies in heavenly fire- all that was left were ashes and heaps of bones. They were collected and stored in a monastery in Ethiopia as a warning to others. The high priests knew that these were powerful occult items and they could be used to summon Lucifer himself or to summon other lowly demons, if one knew the process. Brother Solomon had brought with him a small amount of those ashes and bones just in case. He would crush some wild myrrh and other herbs and add a few drops of his own blood to complete the ritual. Brother Farid watched anxiously as he performed the ritual. Johnathan lay unconscious on the table with a lightbulb hanging just over his head. Solomon crushed the bones and herbs in a small bowl and then he took a sharp knife and cut his left palm to add a few drops of his blood. He then mixed the potion. After which he dipped his fingers in the potion and drew two small symbols on Johnathan's forehead- this was the name of God in two ancient languages. He then started to chant strange words and closed his eyes with the bowl still in his hands. Seconds later, the bowl began to glow and so did the symbols on Johnathan's forehead and moments later the bowl suddenly burst into flames. Solomon dropped the bowl from his hands in shock and the lightbulb burst violently- there was a sudden surge in power inside the room, Farid could feel it. It was completely dark in the room now and both of them stood in nervous anticipation waiting for something to happen. They didn't expect this level of intensity- the entire room was heavy with energy. A sudden burst of light almost blinded them- they saw Johnathan sitting upright on the table, squatting, his eyes glowing red. "Who dares summon me?" Johnathan said- it was Azazel speaking through him. "Leave Heathen! I warn you in the name of God- leave or be smitten by His grace!" Solomon said trying to see through the light. "God is dead! And so will you- you've given me authority over this body- now I shall never go back! But first I will tear you to pieces and strip you off your flesh!!" Johnathan replied on Azazel's command. Before Solomon could utter another word, Johnathan raised his right hand and clenched his fist- he began gripping Solomon's throat from a distance and in a matter of seconds he would crush it. Solomon choked and turned his head towards Farid who immediately understood what to do next- he hurried and took out his holy book and began uttering verses. He was exorcising him. "You fool!" cried Johnathan "I'm not some lowly demon to fall under your spells- I'm the Prince of Darkness- " Johnathan laughed sinisterly. But Farid continued to read the book with full faith until it was starting to bother him. Johnathan was starting to twitch - the words were weakening Azazel's command. He was glitching between himself and the Demon- his grup was losening on Solomon. "Ugggghhh!!" Johnathan cried in pain "Stop it!!" Farid began to read louder as Solomon fell on his knees after being released. As the holy chant continued, Johnathan's body twisted and he lay flat on the table, groaning and struggling in pain. "I'll put a barrier in his body that would keep the demon from coming out-" said Solomon and clasped his hands together and began praying. The walls of the room began to shake terribly and the whole place shook like there was an earthquake until Johnathan stopped moving and then everything was calm. The ritual of the Wrath of God was completed successfully and both of them hoped that the demon was locked inside him. Farid lit a candle and both if them drew a sigh of relief when they saw Johnathan sleeping peacefully. "Good job Brother- we did it!" remarked Solomon. "I hope the barrier is complete!" replied Farid. Solomon nodded- "I know it is- look at him- he's at peace- let's take him to his bed!" Johnathan was taken to his bed where he slept soundly for a few hours. Meanwhile Billy was thinking of his nefarious plans on how he would capture Lisa and sacrifice her life. Raven had ran off leaving the powerful Eye in his capable hands. Little did he know that it was also a special grade weapon and had the power to destroy everything if the wrong procedure was followed. This was one of the items that Azazel was looking for- the heavenly weapons of mass destruction. It was 11 a.m. now and in another hour or so he would meet with her and kidnap her. It won't be an easy task but he had his bag of tricks to rely on!
