“Make sure they don’t exist,” mom’s voice snapped something aggressive in me, and the light inside me began to explode into our combination. It hit mom on the chest; she didn’t stagger, her evil powers matching ours in a fair tie. I felt myself stumble and fly over to the corner of the lair, hitting my head on the shelf.
