Chapter 14

"My son, he needs me."

Dawin literally froze, luckily there is no other car driving at this hour.

"W-what?"

"Please I'll tell you later but please be faster, my baby needs me!"

Dawin continued to drive, but his senses we're all in the sentence Alice said a while ago.

After 10 minutes of traveling both finally arrived in Care orphanage.

Alice went out from the car hurriedly without saying any words, Dawin who is curious, also went inside the orphanage, but when he got there, he stood still from his feet.

Infront of him is Alice who is carrying a baby who is crying.

"Shh, I got you okay? Mom is here, stop crying."

After 5 minutes, the baby is now sleeping and Alice directly asked the staff there on what happened.

"Mam, yesterday Brian got a fever, when we decide to call you, we remember you are busy so we canceled our plan, but today Brian keeps crying and he is always looking for you so we have no choice but to let you inform."

Alice closed her eyes and sigh deeply.

"How many times I told you to never hesitate to call me when something happens to Brian, I don't care how much busy I am but Brian is always my top priority so please if this happened again, please call me as soon as possible."

The staff there nodded and apologize and Alice forgave them afterwards as they also thought about Alice's work.

The staff went out from the scene and only Alice, Brian and Dawin is left in the hall.

Alice thought Dawin left earlier but when she glance at the door, she saw Dawin and her eyes widened.

"Dawin."

"Care to explain to me all of this Alice?" Dawin said and frustration is evident from his eyes.

Alice have no choice but to let Dawin know the truth.

"Okay I'll tell you everything but before that, I'll talk to the staff, I'm planning to bring Brian home for the mean time."

Dawin widened his eyes, "What?"

"I'll talk to you later."

Alice went to the staff department and talked to them about Brian coming home with her for the mean time, all of the staff agreed as they also trust Alice so much, Alice has been helping this orphanage for the last four years and they are very thankful for her.

They told Alice before to bring Brian home, but she declined it saying no one will take care of him as she is always busy.

Alice payed them for taking care of Brian.

When they are done, the staff brings Brian things and assist Alice through the exit. When the staff saw Dawin she bowed and Alice was shocked when Dawin grab the bag from the staff and thanked her.

The three of them is now inside the car and while Dawin is driving off to their house.

When they finally got there, Dawin went out in the car first and went to Alice's side and open the door for her.

Dawin also opened the main door which Alice said thank you.

When they got in the living room, now Dawin sat down at the couch and looked at Alice.

"Explain to me all of this."

"Yes, yes I'll tell but maybe can you perhaps carry Brian for a while? I just need to ready his things in my room and prepare a sponge bath for him as he is still slightly burning.

Before Dawin could reply, Alice gave Brian to Dawin, luckily Brian didn't even cry as he was sleeping soundly.

Alice went upstairs and left Dawin who have no idea how in the hell he is in the position right now, holding a baby so gently, as he was scared that he will fall any time if he didn't carry Brian properly.

He was deep in his thoughts when suddenly he felt a tiny hand touching his cheek he look down and saw Brian's doe eyes looking at him cutely that burst Dawin in to pure admiration for the baby.

The baby pout when Dawin didn't talk and just continued to stare at him and that is when Dawin cooed a little loudly which causes Brian to laugh or more like giggle.

"Your so cute, bub," Dawin said.

"I don't know how Alice became your mom, and I really hope she will tell me everything, right bubba?" Dawin says while the last part more like in a childish way.

"Wer Mumma?" Brian asks cutely.

"Bub, your mom is preparing things for now okay?"

Brian who acts like he understand Dawin nods cutely that make Dawin cooed at him again.

Dawin was making Brian laugh cutely when suddenly Alice appeared in front of them.

"Mumma!" Brian shouted and wiggled from Dawin's grip and put his hands in front, motioning Alice to pick him up immediately.

"Aigo, my baby, are you hungry," Alice asks while blowing Brian tummy which resulted for him to laugh loudly.

Alice and Brian was so busy with each other that they didn't notice someone or more like Dawin staring at them. Dawin didn't thought that a moment like this would happen in his entire life.

Alice infront of him, carrying a baby, while the baby keeps saying mumma, Dawin before loves the idea to see Alice with children, more particularly their own children.

But Dawin's hope crash when he remembered the baby in front of him only belongs to Alice, the baby knows Alice as his mom, but the baby don't know Dawin, heck Brian is even not his son.

"Um? Dawin?" Dawin was disturbed from his thoughts when Alice called him.

"Maybe I can tell you now?"

"Oh yeah sure, sure come sit," Dawin moves on to the side to give Alice a big space to sit with Brian clinging to her like a koala.

"You must know before that I love helping orphanages right?"

Dawin nod, he still remember before the way Alice would always find a time to visit the orphanage as she thought the orphans needs love and maybe she can give it to them even though it's small. And that is when she starts giving allowance to Care orphanage.

Back then Dawin was the one who first find the Care orphanage and he told Alice about it and both started to help them eagerly.

"1 year ago, it was raining heavily but I still decided to visit the Care orphanage as I was excited to tell the kids about my new achievement and I also brought them a lots of food," Alice sigh, as she was still sad from the past.

"When I-I got there I first went out to my car with my umbrella, I'm going to open the gate when something almost makes me trip, when I look down I was shocked like literally I froze, infront of me there was a basket with a baby on it, passed out as he was soaked in rain, luckily I got my senses back and hurriedly open the gate and I carry the basket going to the orphanage, I didn't even care about my car which is outside, I-I go straightly to the orphanage and shouted for help.

Luckily the staff was just near the entrance they we're so shocked to see me soaked in rain while carrying a baby in a basket.

The baby, dawin, i-it was Brian, I-I was so numbed back then luckily the staff helped me," Dawin hesitantly rubbed Alice back who seems to like it as she was now crying.

"We really all tried our best I-I tried everything to make Brian wake up and luckily he did and I was so happy that I cried and hugged him.

When I dried him up and changed him in to dried clothes I cried, cause I discovered Brian was just a new born baby, his umbilical cord was still in his tiny tummy, the staff they we're also shocked but they are more experienced than me so they controlled their emotions.

After that I decided to name him Brian and that is when everything started, 1 year ago I always visit the orphanage just for him but time goes by I realize, Brian needs me, he was so eager to feel me beside him always, and that's when a staff said that I really looks like Brian's mom and I didn't opposed the Idea, actually I like it, and that's when I decided to adopt Brian.

It was all done, he's finally my son, but the problem is my work, no one will take care of him if I will bring him home, so I ask the staff for favor to take care of him when I'm not around.

I payed them as an gratitude, but now I realize all of this I- I just want to make Brian stay here forever."

Alice hesitantly looked at Dawin.

Dawin was just staring at Alice without saying anything, Dawin feels something, something that urges him to protect Brian at all cost.

"If you want to permanently bring Brian home, then I support you, I kinda actually like his presence."

Alice widen his eyes and subconsciously hug Dawin tightly.

"O my god thank you! I really thought you don't want Brian living the same roof as you."

Dawin looked at her confusingly but she just shrugged when he looked at Brian he realize he slept again.

"By the way how about our family do they know Brian?"

"Um about that, no? I really didn't told them, heck they didn't even know I'm helping an orphanage."

Dawin nods and decided to call it a day. Alice also agreed and both bid akward good nights and entered their own rooms.

It's now 1 a.m but Dawin is still not asleep, he is just laying on his bed while staring at the ceiling.

His thoughts we're all about what happened earlier. He never thought Alice will adopt a baby. But even though that happened, he is still okay with it, cause he himself admit that he adores baby Brian, surprisingly Brian really looks like Alice.

But even though after all this chaos, he will still not forgot what happened, not until Alice herself will tell him all of the reasons. From the start to end. Even though it happened 5 years ago,he still needs a proper explanation, he was a victim, he was hurt, he tried to survive the pain he experienced from loving Alice.

Dawin was so deep in thoughts that he didn't notice that he fell asleep without even covering himself with his thick blanket.

7:30 a.m

Alice woke up early and smiled when she glance at her side and saw baby brian all cuddled up in thick blanket while hugging his small bolster.

Alice kissed his forehead and went to bathroom to start her morning routine.

While she was showering, she remembered her thoughts yesterday before she went to sleep. Her thoughts is, she is ready to bring home permanently Brian not as guest but as her son, she will not return Brian anymore to the orphanage and let the staff take care of him, she will try her best to be a better mom to Brian, she will tell her family about Brian later on, first she needs to talk to Dawin and ask for his opinion as he was also staying on their house.

She was done on her morning routine and Brian is still sleeping soundly, Alice chuckled and gave a peck to Brian's forehead.

When Alice went out from her room, it was also the same time Dawin have just closed his room.

"Oh, Dawin, morning," Alice speaks.

Dawin nods and walks going to the stairs when Alice called her.

"Dawin?" Dawin looked at her without saying anything and that's the cue for Alice to speak.

"I actually decide yesterday about letting Brian stay here permanently."

"Oh, you made a good decision, do you told our family already?"

Alice shake her head as no.

"I'll call them later, cause I'll invite them for dinner later on, and firstly I need to go to grocery store to buy some ingredients cause I'm not planning to order take out and I will just cook," Alice says, Dawin was going to replied but both flinched when they both feel a little hands holding their feet as a support.

"Mumma?" Alice looked down and saw Brian who have just crawled and now standing on his feet using Alice and Dawin's feet as an support.

"O my god, baby, your awake! Good morning bubba," Alice said and picked up Brian who beamed in happiness while clapping his hands adorably.

Dawin cooed and holds Brian's tiny fingers.

"Dadda?" Dawin and Alice literally froze.

"W-what? Come again?" Dawin speaks while Alice was still gaping at Brian.

"Mumma, Dadda!" Brian says while bouncing up and down that resulted Alice to hold her tightly.

"I'm sorry Dawin, I promise I never thought Brian that word, I don't know where did he learnt that."

Dawin smiled a little, "no, it's okay, he can call me anything he likes, right bub?" Now both of them faced Brian and when the baby sense that his mumma and dadda is looking at him he smiled toothless.

"Mumma," Brian says while pointing his tiny fingers to Alice.

"Dadda," then he points now his fingers to Dawin.

Both Alice and Dawin can't help but to smile widely.

Both didn't expect this, both never thought this would happen.

Dawin told Alice to let him carry Brian which Alice agreed and Brian was bouncing happily.

"Alice change your clothes, we're going out, you told me you'll go to the grocery store right?" Alice agreed.

"But how about breakfast?" Alice asks.

"Hm, just bring Brian's necessary stuffs and we'll eat in a restaurant first and then we'll go to the grocery store."

Alice agreed and went to her room again to change her clothes to casual.

Dawin is now in the living room, playing with Brian who is enjoying and giggling every now and then.

"Dadda?"

Dawin smiled.

"Yes bub?"

Brian just looked at him with his innocent doe eyes and suddenly he poked his tongue out, which resulted for Dawin to laugh whole heartedly.

Maybe Brian will be the way, for the both hearts to beat in the same rhythm again, but maybe not. Act civil, talk like friends but not lovers, is their love with each other will unite again or it'll turn worse than we all expected? Will Dawin finally forgive Alice, or he will act the same way he used to act when they first saw each other after 5 years. Will Alice forget her habit to hurt herself when things will get out of control or she'll change especially now his son is now with her.

Dawin and Alice along with Brian is now seated inside the restaurant, Dawin decided to book a VIP room as he noticed earlier when they entered the restaurant, baby Brian seems scared when he saw a lots of people, Alice also noticed it and agreed with Dawin's decision.

Brian was just giggling as Dawin pretends to tickle him and Alice is patiently waiting for the food as she was hungry.

"Mumma?" Brian speaks.

"Yes bubba?" Brian point his finger in to his baby bottle containing his water and Alice gladly gave Brian the bottle.

"He seems hungry now," Dawin uttered.

"Yeah," but before Alice could continue the waiter arrive while bringing the tray of foods that Dawin and Alice ordered.

They start eating while Alice also fed Baby Brian every now and then. After a while, the three of them is done so Dawin decided that they will go out and proceed to the grocery store as it was now 9 a.m.

The three of them arrived in the grocery store and Dawin volunteered to Alice that he will carry Brian as he notice that Brian is now sleepy.

When they entered the store, Alice went first to get a cart and Dawin decided to let Brian sleep.

Alice came back and smile.

"He's always sleeping," Alice while smiling and pinched lightly Brian's cheek.

Alice starts choosing the ingredients for the food that she will cook and Dawin was just following him while carrying a sleeping Brian.

"Oh, what a cute family," both Alice and Dawin halt on their tracks when they heard what the lady said who is just in front of them.

Alice just smiled while Dawin ignore her and decided to go to the other section as he remembered that run out of his favorite biscuits that he always bring on his office.

After 1 hour the three of them is now inside the car and Brian who wake up a while ago is now busy l*****g his Ice cream as Dawin bought it for him earlier when he notice d Brian eyeing the Ice cream section.

Alice was also busy in her phone as she was texting their family and friends, inviting them for a dinner later on.

Time passed quickly and Alice is now done cooking also with Dawin's help as Brian is sleeping again peacefully in Alice's room.

Alice is also done on changing her clothes and her make up, when she glance to her bed she smiled and shaked her head.

Brian truly loves sleeping.

Alice went down stairs and saw Dawin watching TV, he was also done changing his clothes in to more casual.

Before Alice could call Dawin, the doorbell rung and Alice excitedly opened it revealing Dawin's mom and dad, and of course Pia.

"Good evening honey," Mae said while hugging Alice, Pia also greeted her and also Lucas.

"Where's my son?" Lucas asked.

"Oh he's in the living room, watching TV."

The three of them nods and went to the living room, while Alice again opened the door and was greeted by her mom, Jeremy and Cassy.

"What's the occasion huh?" Cassy asks while Alice just shrugged her and greeted the three of them.

Dawin also went to the entrance and saw Alice and her family, Dawin greeted them and told them to go to the living room.

"Alice, I also invited Jin, Oliver and Lisa if it's okay with you?"

Alice smile and said, " don't worry I also called them earlier and luckily the three of them is not busy."

Before Dawin could reply the door bell rung and Dawin opened it and was greeted by Jin's face who is so near in the door.

"What the hell dude are you perhaps planning on kissing the wooden door," Oliver said while his eyebrows are furrowed.

Lisa and Alice laugh and Dawin just slaps Jun's shoulder who just poked his tongue to the other two boys.

"Let's go guys the others are waiting already," Alice a little nervous of course as she doesn't know what will they react when they will meet Brian.

Now all of them is now in the living room and the smell of food is not helping Jin who is whining.

"Bro, what are you waiting for let's eat!" He said and all of them laugh also agreeing with him.

"By the way, why did you both invited us all?" Mae asks the both of them.

Alice looked at Dawin and nods to him.

Dawin went upstairs and when he opened Alice's room, he smiled, baby Brian is bow awake while he is playing his toys in his crib.

"Bub, your awake?" Brian saw him and bounced happily.

"Dadda!" Dawin smiled and carried Brian.

"Let's go downstairs bub."

"What is he doing upstairs?"Jia, Alice's mother asked.

Before Jeremy could talk, all of them except Alice froze as they heard a Baby laugh echoing in the stairs.

Alice smiled when he saw Brian who shouted mumma and Alice went to Dawin and get Brian from him.

"Who is he?!" Pia asks while gaping.

"Mumma," Brian pointed to Alice.

"Dadda!" Then Brian pointed his tiny finger to Dawin.

All of them stopped for a while and suddenly shouted.

"WHAT!?"
