Party: Part two

380 Words
The party was in full swing, the music pulsating through the crowd, the lights casting a kaleidoscope of colors. Lily was in the heart of it all, dancing with abandon, when she saw her. Her former best friend, a ghost from her past, standing at the edge of the crowd. Her former best friend Sarah eyes were fixed on Lily, a look of jealousy and resentment etched on her face. She had seen Lily and Jake talking, and it was clear that she didn't like it. She had a drink in her hand, and a mischievous glint in her eyes. Lily, oblivious to her sarah's intentions, was enjoying the party. She was laughing, dancing, and making memories with her friends. She had no idea about the storm that was brewing. Sarah made her way through the crowd, her eyes never leaving Lily. She had a plan, and she was determined to execute it. She was going to pour her drink on Lily, pretending it was a mistake. But fate had other plans. Just as she was about to reach Lily, a figure stepped in between them. It was Max, one of Lily's friends. He had noticed sarah's intentions and had decided to intervene. "Hey, watch where you're going!" Max said, his voice firm. The drink splashed onto him instead of Lily, saving her from the intended embarrassment. Lily turned around, surprised by the commotion. She saw Max, drenched in the drink, and her former friend, looking flustered. "What happened?" Lily asked, her eyes wide with surprise. "Nothing to worry about, Lily," Max replied, his voice calm. "Just a small accident." Lily, ever the caring friend, immediately took Max to another room to help him clean up. She found a spare shirt for him to change into, and helped him clean the sticky drink off his skin. As Lily helped him, Max couldn't help but fall in love with her more. Her kindness, her caring nature, it all made him realize how lucky he was to have her in his life. "You look beautiful tonight, Lily," Max said, his voice soft. "Your dress, your smile, everything about you is just... beautiful." Lily blushed at his compliment, her heart fluttering. "Thank you, Max," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
