Frank had given up on the idea of running. That seemed out of the question now. The police were not far behind. Three police cars, with lights flashing, stopped several hundred feet away. A helicopter was probably on the way. “Okay, in the office. Hurry!” Saunders demanded. The pilot was sitting at his desk with his feet resting comfortably on top of it. He was leafing through an aviation magazine. He looked over the top of the magazine and saw Frank, Mrs. Rawlson, then Saunders. His mouth dropped open, then his feet slid off the desktop. “We’re unusually busy today,” he observed drily. “Get up!” Saunders ordered.
