"Where were you?" I ask Tom as he comes through the front door and pushes me hard, making me stumble and hit the wall "I've barely got in and you're already f*****g interrogating me - just shut up" he shouts, leaving me and going to the kitchen for another glass of whiskey - these days he likes the alcohol more than me. I let out a deep breath knowing we will argue again - just like this morning, like yesterday, and the previous day and all the days before that for the last two years of our marriage. The stench of tacky perfume invades my senses mixed with alcohol and multiple releases; one of them being Tom's - a she-wolf knows her male's scent especially his release. I growl, my wolf enraged that he is home smelling that way again. He is always sure to keep their scents on him; however many whores he has, he doesn't bother trying to hide any evidence he lets me see everything. And every time I'm even more pathetically heart broken. Entering the kitchen I see him texting in one hand, a whisky in the other and that smile on his face - the smile that he used to wear especially for me when I was his world but now he wears it for any female knowing it works every time no matter who he does it too. He even does it to me sometimes and I can't help but fall for him again, he is my weakness and he knows it. I stalk towards him "Who are you texting?" I spit venomously, he doesn't even acknowledge me "Thomas" I snarl "Answer me!" I roar - tears burning my eyes as I know who he's texting but I want him to say it. I'm shoved into the cupboards, his alcohol tainted breath fanning over my face making me want to vomit and kiss him at the same time. A hard slap to my face has my head snapping to the side "Tom" I croak the tears streaming down my face but he is just hitting me continuously. Getting me on the hard floor and choking me "Go on hit me" taunting me "N-n-no" I try to say he just laughs, "You're supposed to be a werewolf -stronger than me but look at you on the f*****g floor." he hisses, another hit to my stomach has me jolting up. His hits hurt but nowadays I have learnt to relish in the pain, it doesn't feel as bad as it once did and in some sort of sick and twisted way my mind has me feeling like every hit is like a kiss. Where he hits me now, he used to kiss me sweetly. There's a part of me that loves his beatings because it brings me back to the happy memories before he changed; I block out the present with thoughts of the past. The first time we met enters my mind, I had been alone in the human world, left the safety of my pack to get some peace and quiet and the humans seemed to understand that; allowed it as most of them liked their quiet as well. I didn't have any pack members around - which was normal as my family didn't want anyone interacting with me especially males; they're protective, too protective. I suppose that is natural for them as my father is a successful Alpha; he built his reputation of being powerful, strong and of course he's made enemies on the way and he does not want to risk his mate or any of his pups lives - especially his youngest pup and only daughter. It had been only a couple of days ago I visited last, going to the quiet café some time ago which I always came back to as there were people who would mind their own business; I did get stares because naturally werewolves are beautiful - it's to lure in our prey but it's been centuries since were's would hunt humans for food purposes par rogues. Humans weren't supposed to be killed, we weren't really supposed to interact with them; we would stay in our packs and they would stay in their human areas without even knowing that werewolves lurk in the woods. I had sat down on my usual table that I had sat at the previous times I'd been here and ordered the same; a simple hot chocolate and my attention had been grabbed by a human male. He had came through the door and his eyes were focused on me so I raised a brow to him and he smiled, a faint blush coming onto his cheeks as he straightened his tie and came over to my table. "May I have a seat?" he had asked "Sure" I responded the human sparking an interest in me that I had never had before; wolf or human. "I'm sorry for staring I just couldn't help it - you're beautiful" he said sitting across from me, our feet touching beneath the table as I looked down smiling, my hands around my steaming cup feeling a blush on my cheeks at his compliment. "My name is Thomas but you can call me Tom" he said making me look up and see his hand offered to me, I took it shaking firmly like my father had taught me and looked him directly in his eyes - deep chocolate. "Corinna, you can call me Corey if you want" I responded, going to take my hand back but he quickly placed a kiss on the back of my hand his blush still prominent on his cheeks making me smile brightly at the cuteness of him. "It's nice to meet you" he had said and our conversation had carried on for what felt like minutes but turned out to be hours. We had only just noticed that the café was closing as the chairs had been placed on top of tables, staff were cleaning and we were the only customers left. A panic look crossed his face as he suddenly stood "s**t" he had hissed then quickly apologising for the use of language "I didn't realise the time it's just so easy to talk to you" he said sheepishly, hand rubbing the back of his neck "I have to get back to work before I get fired, would you like to walk with me? I mean you don't have to if you-" his rambling made him seem even cuter to me "No, no, no. I would love to walk with you - it's been lovely talking with you" I told him. His eyes had widened and his mouth open, a look of shock on his features "You - you did?" he asked, a smile coming onto my face "Yes. Did you?" I replied, getting up from my seat only of him to come around and pull my seat out, helping me with my jacket and picking up my bag for me. "I loved it" he responded both of us just smiling at the other. "Shall we start walking? I don't want you to get into even more trouble because of me" I had said "Sure, follow me" he responded, opening the door for me and leading me to his workplace. I noticed how he ensured we didn't touch, his hands were clasped behind his back as we chatted - I even made the effort to brush my arm or hand against him trying to get him to loosen up as I wanted him to touch me but I knew he was too shy to initiate anything which was odd for me coming from a werewolf society where males are born to be confident and strong - but I liked it, I liked him. I liked that Tom was different to any other male I had met before. By the time we got to his work he had his hand on the small of my back as he led me through the building - a law firm by the looks of it, he still works there now. "Tom where have you been all day?" a man called through the corridors - someone who I had later learned to be Harry; Tom's best friend. "Wait a second have we been introduced? Tom how come you have this gorgeous lady on your arm?" he had asked - always so charming. "We just met in the café a few blocks away" I had said seeing as Tom had seem to have went mute, scuffing his feet on the carpet and his arm dropped from my waist, his gaze focused on the floor. "Oh! You're that girl" Harry laughed "What do you mean?" I asked "Please man don't" Tom had pleaded him that comment having my interest spiked. "Little Tommy here has been talking about you for a couple months now - the goddess he had seen in the café, he would go there almost everyday to try and catch a glimpse of you and finally he manned up and spoke to you!" Harry laughed - the words made me smile thinking how cute that was. "Is that true?" I had asked him turning to see him looking to the floor, his face bright red and I could see the sweat on his forehead "Uh, yeah" he had said so quietly - sounding so unsure of himself, unlike now. Another hit to the stomach has me jolting up, the scent of silver awakening my senses as I look up seeing his dark eyes watching me squirm beneath him an evil smile on his face - my stench of fear filling the room as when he has the silver he always gets carried away. "Tom, no" I tell him "Please" I beg only to earn a hard slap "Shut up mutt" he screams at me - the doorbell rings at the precise moment his spit lands on my cheek. He smirks "My guest is here" he says, removing himself from me and going to the door and I hear a female's voice - "Tommy" she purrs "I missed you" she continues making my growl shake the house hearing her talk to my male like that. The door slams, heels clicking on the floor "Wait here" Tom's gruff voice instructs her as he storms back into the kitchen, seeing me crouched down in an attacking stance - I want that female's blood. He ignores my murderous growl knowing I won't hurt him, I would never, I can't and he grabs me by the hair, his other hand clasping around my neck and dragging me outside throwing me down the stone steps onto the cold, hard floor. He crouches beside me, and in seconds the silver knife is jabbed into my shoulder - excruciating pain shooting through me. My howl of pain cut off by his fist punching my throat, the impact making my head smack against the ground only tears and desperate gasps for air leave me as his hand grips my throat pulling my face to him. "Do not disturb me Corinna or I'll leave you" he threatens, making me whine out at the mere mention of him leaving me more tears streaming from me. "I w-w-won't" I choke out, causing a smirk to cross his features "Good girl" he says. "Now, stay out here like the good little b***h you are" he spits, releasing me only to yank the silver knife out of my shoulder causing me to scream in pain - sobs escaping me only for him to kick my stomach. "Shut the f**k up - one noise from you and I'm gone forever. Do not ruin my night Corinna" he tells me making me silence myself, all I can do is tremble in pain as I watch the man I love, my world walk away from me to go to another female. What happened to my male?
