I see how the two of them start a conversation that I don't want to join, because I'm still not confident in my voice, but since nothing goes as I want, they both decide to include me.
- And what do you have planned for the next few days? Any parties? - Samuel asks, wrapping a towel around his hips to cover his magnificent attribute from my view.
Which I appreciate because I can't concentrate like this, although sitting in front of me with his bare torso doesn't help either.
- Yes! There are a couple of music festivals happening in the next few weeks and I was thinking of going - Kate excitedly shares her plans with her brother.
Samuel looks at her and smiles before shifting his magnificent gaze to me.
- And you, Amanda? Anything you want to do? - yes, jump on top of you and ride you on that same couch.
- No, I don't have anything definite. Mostly, I just want to relax and enjoy the beaches of Los Angeles. Rest - I say, avoiding being too obvious when looking at him.
- You're such a bore - Kate blurts out, huffing at my response, and I just smile.
Whenever I refuse their craziness or excessive outings, she responds the same way.
- Everyone has their own preferences, and that's not necessarily a bad thing, Kate - her brother scolds her, and she rolls her eyes.
- Whatever - she says and pulls out her phone to get lost in social media as she always does.
- And what are you studying, Amanda? I think Kate told me something, but I don't remember now, my fault - he asks me, genuinely interested, and I can only imagine unhealthy things in my mind.
- Landscaping and Interior Design - I say with a lump in my throat, my eyes slipping to his chest several times, and I think Samuel has caught me doing it several times.
Damn it, Amanda!
Don't be so shameless.
But how can I not be, with his almost 6'3", his dark and quite bronzed skin, thick eyebrows, muscular features, dark eyes, and a body, wow, sculpted by the gods' hands.
I would run my tongue over those abs, especially if they were covered in chocolate.
- Two specializations?...- he says surprised, and I nod -...That's great, you could do your internship at the construction company once you finish studying - he says with a radiant smile and an indescribable look, and I just want to scream and touch the sky for what he just said.
- Th-thank you - I manage to say because all coherent thoughts have abandoned my brain.
I can't think when he looks at me like that, as if he... wants to devour me.
This man leaves me so stupid, and I don't know if that's good or bad.
- Sam is the best at what she does. This woman would be perfect in the company. If you're doing well now, you'll do even better with Amanda - Kate says, making my chest swell with happiness at her words and blush at the same time.
It always happens to me when people talk about my skills, because I don't always believe in myself.
- That's good to know, so when you need to do the internship, don't hesitate to contact me - Samuel says, looking directly into my eyes with an intensity that makes me tingle all over, and I swallow hard and nod at his words.
Even if I have to move to Los Angeles to be close to this amazing man, I will do it without hesitation.
- Oh, s**t, Amanda! We have to go, Vanessa is waiting for us in an hour for lunch - Kate exclaims, standing up abruptly, and I look at her and nod in agreement.
- I was thinking of inviting you to lunch - Samuel says, and I want to die right here.
- Thanks, little brother, but we already had plans with Vanessa - his sister says, not caring about Samuel's offer, and I shake my head at her childish and selfish attitude.
- Well, then can we meet for dinner instead? - Samuel suggests, and before Kate says anything, I respond.
- That sounds great. I don't think I can be out all day shopping, so count me in - I say with a trembling smile.
- Amanda! We had plans for the afternoon - my friend squeals, and I shrug my shoulders.
- Kate, I'm tired from the trip, and even though I don't feel like it, I'll accompany you to have lunch with Vanessa, but don't count on me after that. I want to rest - I say as calmly as possible to prevent World War III from breaking out.
She huffs but agrees to my words. She knows me, she knows that I usually go along with everything she wants, but not today. Today, I'd rather sit and have dinner with her brother than do anything else.
And if we could do something more, I wouldn't object.
- Fine, whatever you want. Samuel cooks amazingly, so you'll enjoy the dinner - she says and starts looking around for someone, I don't know who.
- Okay then. Anything you'd like to eat? - he says, licking his lower lip after giving me a quick look up and down, warming my soul and much more.
I'm not sure what's going on with him, but his blatant flirting has me on cloud nine, or maybe I'm seeing things where I shouldn't?
- Wha..whatever is fine with me - I stammer, clearing my throat so he won't notice how weak he makes me.
My legs are trembling, my heart is pounding in my chest, and my hands are itching to touch him.- "Pasta and wine?" - he says with a small smile and I nod, unable to say anything.
- "Sami, have someone take our things to our rooms," says Kate, starting to climb the stairs to the second floor.
- "I hope we spend more time together, shorty, now that you'll be here," he tells her, and she screams something I can't understand.
We both chuckle at how crazy Kate is, she's nothing like her brother, who is much more serious and focused.
I like that a lot, if he saw me more than just a little girl, I would be happy with him forever.
- "There's no need to call anyone, I can carry the suitcases," I say, avoiding his gaze, it makes me too uneasy and causes things that I shouldn't be feeling.
Relax, Amanda, don't get false hopes.
- "There's no need for you to do it, I can do it," he says with a beautiful smile.
We fall silent, not an uncomfortable silence, but not entirely comfortable either, as there is a tension in the air that I can't define.
- "Hmm, thank you for letting me stay here during the holidays, or part of them, Mr. Stoll," I truthfully say, because regardless of being his sister's best friend, he doesn't have the duty or the need to accommodate me.
- "First, you have nothing to thank for, and second, don't call me 'Mr.', just call me Samuel, I'm not that old to be addressed as 'sir'," he says, releasing a slight chuckle and raising an eyebrow in my direction.
I unconsciously bite my lips and see his eyes darting to that place.
- "Well... Samuel, and no, you're not old, you're just fine like this," I blurt out, and as I realize what I said, I blush completely and lower my gaze to avoid looking at him.
Damn it!
Me and my things, I should think about what I'm going to say before I blurt it out.
- "That's how I like it, it sounds much better," he gives me a look that makes all the hairs on my body stand on end and sends a shiver through my whole body.
- "Alright, then... I'll take this," I say, pointing at the suitcases, but just as I'm about to pick one up, a man approaches and takes both of them, starting to go up with them.
I imagine he must work here because if Samuel doesn't say anything, there must be a reason.
I watch the man go up and approach the stairs.
- "Hmm, well..." I say, taking the first steps until I turn and see him staring at my rear. Damn it! "...We'll be seeing each other," I say with a flutter in the center of my body.
- "Oh, I'm sure we will," he says, smiling, causing my panties to want to throw themselves at him and the only neuron I had left to drool over him.
He turns around and leaves me alone, watching his exquisite back appear and walk away from me.
Damn it, it's going to be a long and delicious summer.
