Watching as Yara looked at herself in the mirror I still have yet to finish getting ready. What Kairo said has been on my mind all day.

"Hello girl are you with me". Yara said shaking me and I looked up at her.

"I'm sorry girl it's just a lot on my mind". I said with a sigh.

"What happened". She asked taking a seat beside me on the bed.

"Kairo and I were at the park just chilling and Lee came out of nowhere talking about he's going to tell Jerome that I'm still hanging out with Kairo". I said and she smacked her lips.

"Girl f**k Lee and Jerome you can hang whoever you want to he don't own you now come on let's finish getting you ready". She said standing up from the bed.

Taking a seat at her vanity she started on my make up.

|3 hours later|

The party was lit everybody was having a great time. Looking over the crowd of people I see someone that looks familiar.

"b***h IT'S OUR BIRTHDAY BEND OVER AND SHAKE THAT ASS FOR ME". Yara yelled grabbing my hand.

Round of applause by Waka Flaka started to play.

"Oh they done went back I see". I said before bending over and twerking on her as I still held her hand.

"OKAY SHOW OUT b***h THIS MY BESTFRIEND". I heard her yell causing me to laugh.

" When I hit the scene girls yellin' and they scream

"Alright girl I'm about to go get something to drink". I said standing up out of breath.

"Okay be safe and blow that whistle if you need me". She said and I nod before walking away.

On my way to the kitchen I look to the side and had to do a double take once I saw Kairo. Walking over I stand right in front of him.

"I thought you weren't coming". I said looking up at him.

"I wasn't but my cousin Dakari wouldn't get off my d**k about it". He said causing me to laugh.

"Dakari is always at somebody's party so I'm not surprised". I said as he looked down at me.

"So you just don't f*****g listen do you". I heard Jerome say from behind me.

"Are you stalking me it's like you're everywhere I be at". I ask as I turn around to look at him.

"Why you got to constantly do what I tell you not to do". Jerome asked mugging me.

"And who the f**k are you". I ask raising an eyebrow.

"Keep showing out for this dude and see where it get you". He said walking up on me and I back up.

"And where is that". Kairo asked staring at him still leaning against the wall.

"Mind your business". Jerome said and I shook my head.

"You trying to leave". Kairo asked ignoring him grabbing my hand.

"Yes". I said nodding getting ready to walk out with him when one of Jeromes friends started swinging at Kairo before Jerome and two more started jumping him.

Without even thinking I blew the whistle before I hop on Jeromes back and start swinging. Putting him in a choke hold I squeeze tighter and we fall to the floor.

Looking over I see Yara going toe to toe with another boy. Once Jerome went limp I push him off of me before standing up and grabbing the other guy by his shirt swinging him to the ground before throwing punches.

"Let's go". I heard someone say before I was picked up.

"Where is Yara". I ask looking around.

"She's with my cousin". The person said and I knew it was Kairo.

Once we were outside he put me down and we started walking.

"You and you're friend ain't have to do that but I really appreciate it though". He said looking over at me.

"It was nothing really but let me call Yara". I said pulling out my phone.

"Hello". She said as soon as the call connected.

"Are you okay". I ask as I continued to follow Kairo.

"Yeah I'm fine but are you okay I heard the whistle and came over swinging". She said causing me to laugh.

"I'm good thanks for coming to help and Kairo said thank you". I said looking over at him and he looked like he was in his own little world.

"Oh tell him it was definitely not a problem I ride for whoever my bestfriend f***s with but look I have to go my moms calling I love you". She said as I shook my head.

"I love you too". I said before we hung up.

"You have a down ass friend". He said looking over at me.

"Yeah she is". I said nodding my head.

"Must be nice". He mumbled but I acted like I didn't hear him.

"So where are we going". I asked grabbing his hand.

"My house you trying to spend the night". He asked looking over at me and I nod my head.

"Sure". I said with a small smile.

After that it was an comfortable silence which got me to thinking.
