21. Waiting for You *Mature Content*

Susan POV:

Maybe I over said it. I really didn’t want to bring these kinds of awkward things right now, but I couldn’t help it.

Ever since I moved to Black Moon Pack from Silver Moon Pack, my life has changed.

I always studied and trained to be the best, but it was getting hard to bear Alpha’s Mueller flirting. I’ve always waited for my mate very patiently.

Actually, I was waiting but I wasn’t looking at all for him and Alpha Mueller had a mate already and it just disgusted me even more.

One day, I was ending my shift, he was waiting for me outside the Pack's Clinic and he made sure that it was the kind of night when I was alone, tired and helpless.

He injected wolfsbane into me and threw me in his car, took me to a room. He made sure I was awake, tied up and again, helpless.

I won’t ever forget that night, the most awful night of my life, the night that he took my dignity away. He took my hope away and also hurt me in the most horrible way possible, not only physically but also mentally.

He was violent, rough and disgusting, he was about to leave with an ear to ear smile on his face after he violated my body, but of course, he also made sure to frighten me even more by saying he would be back as soon as possible and no, I couldn’t take it anymore. I’d rather be dead than let this happen again.

My eyes were swollen by how much I cried, everything was blurry but Aurora made me calm down, the smell of wolfcraig and wolfsbane filled the room.

I was counting only on Alpha Mueller’s haughtiness to think I was nothing but a piece of garbage and trust me, that was exactly how I felt back then.

I also counted on Aurora, hoping that, shifting, I could get rid of the ropes and it worked. I broke down the door and ran away from the Silver Moon Pack. Mueller's pack wasn't the strongest one, so the Pack's gate wasn't very well guarded, then I ran.

I ran and ran to where my paws led me. I ran until Aurora's paws started to bleed but we didn’t stop.

I shifted and covered myself with the bedsheet I stole from that awful room and kept running. I was weak, tired and if it wasn't for the adrenaline that was jolting my body, I wouldn't have made it.

I was sure that Alpha's Mueller wouldn't come after me because of his mate, even though they didn't mark each other, he also didn't want to make a scandal out of a simple she-wolf he raped and he was too high to even remember what happened.

I was counting on that.

My legs were wobbling with weakness and tiredness.

Then I scented a delicious and manly smell; lemongrass and alyssum.

“Mate, our mate is here” Aurora whimpered happily, breathlessly.

I was tired and he had a frowning face, but when he looked at me, I saw his green eyes darken or it was me fainting out of tiredness, because last thing I knew, I got unconscious and tingles filled over all my body.

I woke up startled thinking that somehow I was back in the Silver Moon Pack.

I was already dressed and in a clinic, it seemed, and then I saw him again, but he was expressionless.

Nevertheless, my heart was still racing at seeing that handsome man, he was my mate.

I didn’t know much about the mate bond because I’ve spent most of my life studying to become the best doctor from all over the realms and I also spent a lot of time training, but it seemed that he didn’t feel the pull.

I didn’t know it was possible that only one side could feel the bond because a mate holds the other part of each other’s soul, but I shook off that thought.

“How are you feeling? Why the heck were you running like that? It seemed that you were running away from a ghost” he said firmly, but not unkindly, his voice was laced with worry.

“I’m sorry, I’ve been through a lot. Please, don’t send me back to my pack. I promise I’ll be useful, I’m scared, I’m hurt, I’m…” I hyperventilated and I was talking non-stop.

I would do anything to stay away from the Silver Moon Pack. I could even go rogue.

“Hey, calm down, I know what happened to you. Dr Kaly examined you. I'm just concerned because it takes hours to reach the nearest pack and you were still running away" he said, looking down "I’m so sorry. You can stay here; we’ll find something useful for you to do in the Black Moon Pack, you don't need to worry about a thing anymore, no one is going to cause you any harm here”, he said.

I felt so ashamed and disgusted with myself, but also all I could see was that handsome face he had, he was strong and tall.

I’ve never seen such a gorgeous man in my life, not that I had ever looked for a date and his eyes had a caring and protective gleam somehow.

“Thank you, I’m also a doctor. I can help around here if you let me. I’m a very good one. I promise you won’t ever regret it. May I talk to the Alpha?” I asked, concerned. He might be the Beta.

He was strong and had an Alpha aura, but the Alpha himself wouldn’t do what he was doing at all for an outsider like me and I knew that anyone who came in any pack needed to formally introduce themselves to the Alpha.

He offered his hand and gave me a slight smirk.

“I’m Alpha Randall Blackford, welcome to Black Moon Pack” he said, and my eyes opened wide in surprise.

I shook his hand and I felt the tingles and the electric jolts all over my body from our hands. He quickly took his hand off and I got uneasy and somehow my heart clenched.

“Thank you so much, I’m Susan Redfield”. I thanked him and the doctor came in.

“Dr Kaly, this is Susan Redfield, she’s also a doctor and she’ll be staying in our pack from now on. I want you to show her everything. Only you and your mate work here. I think you could use a little help” he coaxed.

Dr Kaly frowned at Randall. Maybe she didn’t like me?

But then, Dr Kaly turned to face me and smiled.

“Hello my dear, you’ve been through a lot. Don’t worry, this is a great pack and the Alpha takes very good care of us. I’ll show you around, but first you need to take a rest and I’ll show you where you can be staying”, she told me, and she was very sweet.

When the Alpha left and we were alone, Dr Kaly surprised me.

“You were very lucky, Susan. Alpha Randall had never done that before” she said, smiling at me, and I frowned.

“I’m sorry Dr Kaly, did what?” I asked her.

“He never lets anyone come in and stay in our pack like that. You might be really special to him” she said and winked at me. I wondered.

Was it possible that he felt the bond too?

But then I looked down again, probably not or he would act differently, right?

“I think I just got really lucky, ma’am” I said, chuckling.

“I was kidding, there’s no such a thing as luck here, my dear. Alpha Randall had just lost his mate recently and she left a 2-year-old daughter for him to take care of, so he might've really seen something special in you” she said like she knew what she was talking about, making me blush and I got more confused than ever.

Nevertheless, I would keep this secret to myself, no one should ever get to know about it.

Randall POV:

I just couldn’t believe it.

I arrived at the pack house and sat on the sofa.

My head was spinning and I just couldn’t take Susan out of my head. I must confess that I’ve never felt this way before, not even with Helena, Alice’s mother.

That’s why I’ve never marked her and she also didn’t want to be marked, she was afraid of people finding out about what she was.

I didn’t see any connection with that, but I didn’t care, I was fine with it.

However, she was still my mate, but after I met Susan, I froze.

I couldn’t believe that a second chance mate could happen so fast and could be even stronger. I was already head over heels in love with Susan. I wasn’t prepared, it had only been a few weeks ever since Helena passed away.

“I love her, I want to bend her over to submission and take her and her wolf, she’s our mate. I have never felt something so strong for someone either. Let’s mate and mark her”. Shadow said, and I quickly shook it off.

I have a child to raise and protect. She was special and I can’t have this bond right now.

But what made me feel worse is that the pull I was feeling for Susan was stronger than whatever I felt for Helena and I was feeling guilty enough for a lifetime.

Dr Kyla said that she got raped. f**k, I wanted to ask who the motherfucker was and kill him myself.

I was feeling protective and possessive over Susan already and we didn’t even spend much time together. What will become of me?

Should I reject her? I thought but shook this thought off quickly. I knew I couldn’t, she was the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid my eyes on, she was special and she needed time to heal completely from what happened to her and I wanted to help her.

“You’ll never reject her, I won’t let you” Shadow said in my mind.

“Dada” Alice called, coming to me.

“Alpha, forgive me, Alice missed you and she didn’t stop calling for you”. The head of the omegas in the pack house was Odete and she was the one who looked after Alice when I wasn’t around.

“It’s fine, come here, my little pup” I said, and dismissed Odete.

I took Alice in my arms and I threw her up and caught her again and she laughed out loud, such a cutie and precious little pup of mine.

“I’m sorry, Alice, for what we’ve done to you, but I need to protect you in any way I can. You’re my special pup. Actually, you’re the most special pup in the whole realm”, I said, smiling at her, and she smiled back.

“You know, dad has a second chance mate now. Her name is Susan. What do you think about it?” I asked her.

“Mama” Alice said.

“I’m sorry pup, Helena just made her way to Ether now, she’ll wait for us there” I sadly said to Alice. She frowned but smiled.

“Shuzan…mama” she said, and I’m the one who frowned now.

“All right, let’s put some food in that little stomach of yours, pup, enough with the heavy”. I jumped with her on my lap, making her chuckle.

“Hey man, what’s up? I’ve heard you let an outsider come in. Are you OK?” Henry, my Beta asked.

“I am, she needed help, she was hurt and….” I tried to explain without telling him that she was my mate.

“No need to explain,. Actually, I thought it was a good idea, we should invite her to familiarize herself with the pack”, Henry said, and I just nodded.

“I want her to familiarize herself with something big that I’m aching to bury inside her”, Shadow was almost howling.

“Give me a break already”, I told him, and he was having fun mocking me.

It would be hard to see her again but that’s what we needed to do.

“How about you, pup? Want to go to uncle Henry's arms?” He asked.

Alice offered her little arms to Henry and he took her. Henry was a real nice friend, my best friend ever since we were pups. He played with Alice for a while.

"I can't wait to find my mate and have lots of pups either", Henry said, smiling at Alice, and he continued;

“Oh and guess what? The Royal Pack scheduled a meeting every couple of weeks so we can all discuss the improvements of the packs. Every Alpha will be there, some with their Betas, but Lunas aren’t allowed now. Can you believe it?” Henry asked, his voice sounded disappointed.

“Bullshit, but it won’t change a thing for me now” I said, shrugging off.

“I’m sorry man, we need to go to the meeting next week” he said, and I just nodded.

Days passed and we invited Susan for a tour. It was so hard not to stare, she was acting like she wasn’t feeling the pull, ’thank goddess’ I thought, but Shadow was uneased over it. Somehow, it made my heart stung by this thought.

We were walking and she stumbled. She was about to fall when I held her.

I wrapped my arms around her body, feeling all the tingles and the f*****g electric jolts in every inch of my being and I had a hard time letting her go.

“Are you OK? You should really watch your steps and pay attention to where you’re going, you might end up messing up that pretty face of yours badly sometime” I told her, firmly, and she furrowed her eyebrows at me.

“Well, I’m sorry if I was staring at where you were pointing for me to look and didn’t notice that big hole back there, Alpha Randall,. You should’ve let me be slammed to the floor. Remember this next time so I don’t need to hear your rudeness” she said, and even Henry looked startled at us.

I rolled my eyes at her and she just chuckled over my reaction.

I frowned but deep inside I was melted and I loved to see her beautiful smile and the way she talked back at me.

Someday, maybe…we could be?

I shook this thought off. What’s wrong with me?

If it was any other wolf, I’d have her in the dungeon right now for much less, but not her.

Years passed and I started to have nightmares in my sleep. It was the same nightmare over and over again and most of the nights.

I almost went insane, especially after the Royal Meetings started. I was always angry and impatient.

Tonight was one of those kinds of nights. I fell into a deep slumber.

I was with Susan and I was f*****g her, she felt so good, so mine.

Fuck, I glanced at Susan and I noticed she was more beautiful each day and I didn’t even know it was possible, she was my mate.

I felt like there was nothing keeping me apart from her anymore, but it had been so long that I just got settled.

I didn’t know where to start.

I’ve never took any other woman after I met her and there were plenty of she-wolves throwing themselves at me.

I was craving her and only her. I used to release my tension by giving myself a hand thinking about my beautiful mate.

I would find some opportunity or I would give us one as soon as Conri gets better.

At least everyone thinks I’m having the hardest time because of Conri.

I was very worried about him as well, but he was our King and he'll snap out of it. I was very sure of it.

I was uneasy about having Susan so close to me.

I always kept my distance, but now she was always around. I get stiff every time she gets closer because it’s so f*****g hard to control myself from taking her right here and right now smelling her lavender and freesia scent.

I ran my hands through my air looking down and I gasped.

“Don’t worry, he’ll get better soon” Susan said as she sat beside me.

I looked around and everyone was talking among themselves but me and Susan.

I turned my head to glare at her and she glared back at me.

She was so beautiful, I guess that’s the closest I’ve ever been to Susan after the day I met her and I stared at every inch of her beautiful face until my gaze met her red lipstick lips for a while and she stiffed, our gaze met again and I was sure she could see the lust from my eyes because I was seeing the same thing on hers.

She slightly smiled and I smirked back and she looked away.

“You already made me wait for too long, 2 decades. I don’t know how much more I can take before I force myself on the surface and claim her”, Shadow said, and I smirked.
