Martha wanted to send Landry a message right away to clear things up, but she was not sure what to say. She wanted to think that he understood. They had talked about the need to keep their relationship a secret. They had even talked about the need to avoid suspicion at the party. Surely he knew she had to play along, right? Since she did not quite know yet what to write, she put off sending a message on the car ride back to Dahlia House. It was just as well, since Josie spent the whole ride recapping the party and gushing about how fancy it had been.
