King Leofric of Weldwyn looked down on the troops taking up their positions below him. He was on a hill, along with his cavalry and bowmen, while to the west, there stretched a line of spearmen, anchored on their left by a group of trees. The enemy lay to the north, the Clan army spread out opposite his own.
He turned to look at Sir Arnim Caster, who sat on a horse to his left. "Are you sure they'll be here in time?" he asked.
"Yes, Your Majesty," the knight replied, "they should soon be in sight."
"What do you think of my deployment?" the king asked.
"I'm not the battle expert, Majesty, but it looks good to me, although I'm curious why you placed the bowmen so far out to the left in front of the wood."
