Anna sat against the wall, Tempus beside her, the great dog's head lying on her lap. All around her were tiles laid out, and she picked one up to examine it.
"Now that we know how the gate works," she was saying, "we need to determine the coordinates of others."
"Yes," agreed Revi, who was pacing the room. "Though I suspect many of them will no longer be working."
"Why would you say that?" asked Hayley.
"I would think the Elves likely destroyed as many as they could," said the mage.
Anna looked around the room at all her friends who were gathered here, a group that had grown with the addition of Sophie, Lily and Tempus.
"We need to rebuild our strength," she said at last. "And we need allies. If we find a gate near Weldwyn, that would be nice
