Chapter 10

Alpha Dex:

This Alpha is whackier than I thought. He was clearly lying about werewolves working here. I could smell something that didn't seem like it was human. There was something familiar about it. This one smell kept reaching out to me. It made no sense, but it was stronger and just didn't seem to fit in with the sweat. It was like the smell during a lightning storm and wildflowers. It is just so earthy, and beautiful. Did I say beautiful, oh crap! My wolf has been trying to nudge me in the right direction, but I kept silencing him; I'm here on business. The smell is just some perfume probably, not my mate. I just need to clear my head. I couldn't imagine being stuck with a human stripper as a mate. Gosh, at that point, it would be better to just walk away even though I'm so close, just for a little taste.

I was speaking to the crazy Alpha Jack, shortly because it is so hard to focus and I'm frustrated and angry. One, he is telling me bs about this sister town and his reason for putting me in a hotel. He is the one who isn't fit to be a fricken Alpha! Then he lies to me about the werewolves. He is full of it. I came here just to speak and try to make up my mind about the future of his pack but I'm so close to just doing a raid. My mind is just racing, I need to cool down.

Then I see the dancer. I can't hold back my eyes turn black. "MATE!!!!!!MATE!MATE!MATE!" My wolf is cheering to me. I snap out of it, but I'm breathing heavily. I have to look away. How can my mate be a stripper? She doesn't know what she's doing its cute really. NO! The odds are that she is human. I can't believe this. I look back up and she does look so beautiful. I want to get closer. I wonder if that is what she actually looks like or if it's just for the show. I don't know any girls that have hair that color. The next thing I know, Alpha Jack excuses himself quickly saying he needs to talk to the manager quickly. I took this time to get a whiskey at the bar. Hopefully, this clears my mind or makes things clear. I need to talk to my third. The lady behind the bar seems to be very interested in me. She gave me a napkin that says request me with the security guard for a good night handsome. There is no way, this place covers for a p**********n ring too? Maybe I need to get my mate out of this.

I head back to the table to see Jack smirking and a new girl getting ready to get on the stage. What happened to my girl? Then I see her being escorted to a cage. What is this place? They treat humans so strange, like slaves. Did he move her there? "What is the deal with the cage? I thought her act just started?" I tried to seem casual and generally interested in his business.

"Well, I thought she looked awkward so she was moved to the cage. The cage is for girls who aren't good for business. I had just found out it was her first show, and I thought she needed more practice before being in my presence like that. This is Gigi who has more experience but she is still newer. Very sweet girl, she was scheduled for the floor but she does better work on the stage. Thinking about getting one of these places in your pack? It is good for income and motivates some men to work harder." He said to me and I was just thrown off by how heartless he was. It was now clear why this pack didn't have a Luna. This guy was the problem. I decided to excuse myself to the restroom. It was time to read the letter and see what that she-wolf thought of her Alpha.

Dear Alpha Dex of the Moon Bloods Pack, 

I am a concerned member of this pack. I am aware that by doing this I am committing treason against my Alpha and my pack. Please hear me out, as I speak for those without a voice. My name is Silver and I, like many other people, have been thrown away by our Alpha. He pushes us to mingle with humans as a source of income. If you aren’t a warrior or a slave then you don’t exist. I know there are other ways that we could value a pack. I would rather be a rogue then be stuck in this place, but sadly I can’t escape. I don’t know much about yours. Or you for that matter. If you have come to look for a fight, there will be a m******e of innocent people who are displeased with their lives. Alpha Jack doesn’t do allies, so if that’s why you came here it was for the wrong reasons. Keep these things in mind when you come and kill us all.

After I quickly read the letter. I didn't have a lot of time to analyze the letter before I had to leave for the floor again. I don't know who this Silver person is but from what I have witnessed today, I believe she is right. I have so much to think about when I get back to the hotel. The person also spells their name very interesting. Why capitalize the V in their name?

Back at the table, I see Alpha Jack looking a little uneasy which is interesting. I want to know what got him like this. It can be the point that helps me take this pack over. He seemed to snap out of it when I appear. I see the security guard by the cage which is the direction he was previously looking. I took this as an opening to ask about the p**********n portion of the business. "So, the lady behind the bar gave me a proposition. She told me to go to that security guard if I wanted to spend the night with her. I assume you knew about this. I wasn't aware that a security guard would hold such a position. Why not put one of your pack members to cover the job of a pimp?" I knew I came out very accusatory but I needed to get a good read on him.

"Oh yes. That. It is a new thing we started doing. Human affairs... I let the humans deal with it but of course, a cut of it has to go back to me. Because I run this town. Obviously. Why don't you go over there and talk to him about the pretty girl behind the bar? I will be right back." He was thrown off by this, I guess he doesn't know everything that goes on her. It makes me believe that he doesn't run this town, he probably barely comes out here. He is all talk, but I will take him up on going over to the cage to that beautiful crazy haired girl even though I know it's against my better judgment. I wouldn't want it to look like I'm refusing the host Alpha.
