More On My Plate

After being hit in the face three times I was more than glad the school day was over. I started towards my car searching my bag for my keys. I rounded the fence that enclosed the parking lot and saw Justin leaning up against my dads 2015 Mustang the only thing I was left got in his will and luckily it was paid off. He had my keys swinging from his fingers as he puffed on a cigarette. "You know you can get in trouble for smoking on school grounds." I said reaching out for my keys. "I'm not worried, to much about it." He said pulling my keys back further from me. "What do you say we go finish what we started this morning?" A smile played across his lips, leaning further onto him to reach my keys. "Don't you have practice?" I asked. "You know Coach Kelly will make you run bleachers, if your late." He shrugged flicking his cigarette to the ground. "Were running bleachers today anyway." grabbing me by my hips holding me to him. Me and Justin weren't a couple more of a connivance because  we had needs and access to each other. "Come on babe. I could really us a release before practice." He hummed grinding into me. I'd be lying if saying I didn't find him attractive , and he was good at filling my needs though there wasn't much of a reference to base that off of. He  defiantly got the job done. He started kissing my neck causing me to let out a sigh and  my willpower to waiver. "Justin I have work tonight." I tried to pull away. "Just call Cal and tell him your running late." He held me to him as he kissed down my neck. " Just..in " I was just about to give into him like I've been doing all summer when someone behind us cleared their throat. I pulled away from his arms and spun around. " Collins, why aren't you out there with the rest of the team running bleachers?" Coach Kelly asked crossing his arms over his wide chest. "Yes sir." Justin answered taking off towards the field, leaving me under Coach Kelly's gaze.  "Jones, girls are in the weight room today, shouldn't you be getting there." Looking disappointed. "Actually Coach I'm not playing ball this year." "What? Why your really talented Jones, I'm sure we can go talk to my wife and she will let you tryout." Sounding sure of himself. Coach Kelly was the boys basketball coach and Coach K his wife coached the girls team his daughter was shining on without me around. "No I'm sure shed rather not have me around."  I protested. "Look Jones you obviously were in misconduct with Collins earlier and if you don't want me to report you and you get in trouble I think we should go talk to my wife." He threatened me.  How am I supposed to balance work, school, and ball?  I couldn't get in trouble though not senior year when it could threaten me graduating.  I slowly nod my head at him. We start walking towards the Weight room. "You belong on that court Jones." He said to me as we entered , Sounds of weights being used echoed throughout the room. "Coach! "He called out to her, She was talking to another player no doubt about their charts she had in her hand. She looked up from the paper smiling until her eyes meet mine. "Jones what do you want? It was my understanding from your absence you didn't want to play this year." She called out over the room. Causing multiple girls to look back at me. "No one said to stop!" She called out to them the whole room went back to lifting. I saw  Brittany give me a sympathetic cringe before Coach K walked towards us and continued talking down to me "Jones there is no place for quitters on my team and even if there was all the spots are full." I nodded at her as a lump formed in my throat "Now listen, You should let her tryout you know she's good." Coach Kelly pointed out to his wife causing her to turn her gaze on him. "She's out of shape, she's behind in training and our first game is a month away!" She was letting her anger coat her voice. "Yes but tryouts are still happening for another few days." He countered. They continued to talk about me like I wasn't there. Her saying I didn't deserve it or I wouldn't be worth the trouble. Him saying I was good enough to help us get to state this year. Finally she turns back to me. "How are you going to get ready in time for the season? You'll need extra training." She said still in doubt about me.   I looked over to Coach Kelly who had got me into this mess just as someone called out. "If she really is interested I'll train her." He stepped around from the benches where I hadn't noticed him and moved towards us. "Are you sure you want to waste your time on her Jordan?" She asked. "As long as she's serious it won't be a waste, he said looking towards me. She let out a deep breathe " Fine" and turned back to me. "You will come in early for workouts and stay for practice after school. I'll draw up your charts and any other training is between you and Coach Jordan. You will tryout on Wednesday and IF you make it you will start as an alternate. " She looked between us and walked away. "Good Luck Jones!" Coach Kelly said before he too walked away leaving me with Coach Jordan. "You didn't have to do that." I said letting some of the anger I felt seep into my words. He looked taken back for a moment. "Well Miss Jones, If you don't want to be on the team, then don't show up tomorrow. I'll be here at  Five if you decide to run drills." He walked away .               I had just made it to my car when my phone started ringing. I checked the caller ID and it was my boss Cal. "Hello " I answered pulling out of the parking lot. "Where the f**k are you Jones, your twenty minuets late!" He yelled into the phone. I have no idea how I am going to do all of this . "I got caught up at school I'm on the way now." I replied. "Well f**k Jones could of called ahead, you better be glad I like you or you'd be in some shit." He said before hanging up on me. Lucky? I don't know about that, I feel pretty unlucky right now.
