SAVAGE AFFAIRS EPISODE EIGHTEEN

Things had just gotten interesting and for a moment we forgot about dinner. See what surprised us is that none of them said a word to each other after the glasses dropped and Sadic sat besides Niki like nothing had really happened. I for once had something to be excited about because atleast there was not going to be so much attention on me.

Naomi: Judith you have a son, guy have never mentioned him before.

Now instead of Judith responding to Naomi, she took off still leaving the glass shattered on the floor. We waited for a moment thinking she could come back and collect the pieces of glass but she didn't.

Eddy: what just happened?

We looked at each other with no one knowing what was going on so I got up to collect the shattered glasses and even though sean didn't want me to, i insisted and Niki decided to help. Naomi warned us to be careful as she got up and followed Judith to wherever she had gone.

Sean: why did she react like that?

Sadic: she was just being dramatic I mean any woman who abandons their child would ve shocked to see them where they least expect.

Sean: i talk to her alot often and she told me you left when 25 years and never came back home again so don't give us that abandoning crap.

Sadic: abandoning crap huh, in all that sole searching and heart opening talk, did she tell you why i left?

Sean didn't answer that and Sadic got up putting his napkin on the table.

Sean: I got invited for dinner and I didn't know I was going to be the topic of discussion. I'll take my leave. Next time you become my mother's diary ask her to tell you the whole story.

He started walking away and Niki quickly followed him.

Niki: are you leaving?

Sadic: seeing my mother has brought alot of bad memories,i don't think I can stay.

Niki: i'm coming with you.

Sadic: no you stay. I want to be alone. I will call you tomorrow.

Sadic walked away and when he got out Judith and Naomi were standing outside, Sadic and Judith stared at each other for a short while before Sadic got in his car and drove off.

Naomi: what was that about?

Judith: he is mad a me for doing something I shouldn't have done.

Naomi: what did you do?

Judith was hesitant to respond to that and Naomi didn't not want to push.

Naomi: children are like that. They get so mad at you but they still love you and he will forgive you if you ask.

Judith: can I take an off, I need to solve things with him before the situation gets out of hand.

Naomi: sure, infact take tomorrow as well. You also deserve a rest.

Judith: thank you. I'm sorry about the glasses,you can deduct from my salary.

Naomi: there's no need for that.

Niki came back to the table and picked her purse and phone from the table.

Sean: are you leaving?

Niki: this family is cursed. Whenever something good is bound to happen things just get out of hand.

Sean: don't say that!

Eddy: but it's the truth. It's like father's ghost is roaming everywhere and screwing up things.

Eddy got up and picked his coat too.

Eddy:by the way I need you all to be careful. There's a nameless and faceless man roaming around wanting to seek revange on our family for God knows what. If you ask me, dad's evil deeds are getting back to us. Be careful while you are out there.

Naomi walked in as Eddy was talking and watched him for a while.

Naomi: your dad had alot of enemies and when he died the rivalry ended. I don't see any reason for his ghosts coming back to haunt us.

Did I mention that I was feeling a bit uncomfortable with this conversation i mean who would want to get married in a family the security was not even guaranteed. If whoever was after the family was mr. Anwar's enemy then we were all doomed.

Naomi: Rayna my dear, I am sorry that you had to meet the family like this. We are not normally this disorganized.

Niki: mh!

Naomi: what does that mean?

Niki: just be careful who you pick to be on your side in this house. Some people have a habit of raining slaps on people's faces for no good reason.

Sean: you slapped her again?

Niki: then sent me packing for telling her the truth.

Eddy: wait you moved out, why doesn't anyone tell me anything?

Sean: because you don't have time for anyone.

Naomi: we have a guest in the house.

Me: don't worry, i will wait outside.

I smiled but didn't say a thing. Sean asked if we could get going but Naomi requested to talk to him shortly so I opted to wait outside.

Niki: I'm leaving.

Niki and i walked out and I we talked for a while before she got in her car and drove off leaving me standing there. Shortly after, Eddy came having taken off his coat and covered me with it.

Eddy: you look cold

Me: yes, it's cold out here ...thanks. you have a beautiful home.

Eddy: this is my dead father's property. I miss you.

Me: stop saying that.

He smiled and sat on the steps scrolling through his phone.

Eddy: it's okay to be missed you know, one day you will want someone to tell you that but they will be no where.

Me: it's not like I don't miss you but you know it's not right.

Eddy: and the thing is that I don't care about what's right and what's wrong. I want you and I will have you.

Eddy's words normally sent cold chills down my spine. The way I knew him he could actually grab and kiss me right there without thinking twice so I stepped away from him but it wasn't long before Sean came out to where we were.

Sean: let's go..

He took off Eddy's coat from me and gave it back to him.

Sean: dude, I'm right here, can you make your moves when I'm away.

Eddy: she was cold.

Sean: keep off.

Eddy raised his hands as a sign of surrender and walked towards his car before Sean called him.

Eddy: what?

Sean: Anderson has gone missing. Have you heard from him?

Eddy: the last time i checked Anderson worked in your office. Why would you even ask me that?

Sean: i know you Eddy, you just didn't visit my office that day for no reason. You wanted to handle things and I know you handled him.

Eddy gave him a Stern look then got in his car and drove off.

Me: is there a time you two are not fighting?

Sean: I'm sorry but I don't trust that he has nothing to do with Anderson's disappearance.

We got into his car and we drove off..

Sadic got to his mother's place an hour after Judith got to her home. Sadic had purposely got drunk so that he could go and face Judith whom he hadn't seen or talked to for years. The last time he saw her, they had a fight over Judith not wanting Sadic to attend Anwar's burial and Sadic flew to Dubai the following day..

Judith went eith Sadic to the Anwar's residence but only when the entire family had gone for a vacation. None of the family members had ever seen him though he knew all of them just fine.

Judith: i told you never to show up there Sadic, why did you have to embarrass me like that?

Sadic threw the bottle of whiskey he had in his hand and it smashed on the floor and Judith stepped back. He took mr. Anwar's photo that was nicely placed on the frame and took a look at it.

Sadic: you deprived me of my right to grow up with my father. He gave them everything they wanted, good education, a good house, jobs and I was here barely surviving. You hid me from them but now I'm back to claim what's mine.

Judith: what are you talking about?

Sadic: does she know that you slept with her husband, do they know that you are their father's other wife?

Judith: you can't tell them that. Sadic coming back to Kenya was a bad idea. I told you I would handle it..

Sadic: by working as their maid. You were supposed to claim your rightful place in that house. You let her send you around like some puppet yet you can have everything that she has.

Judith: rightful place huh, sleeping with Anwar was my choice, it was a one night stand and he paid me heavily to keep my mouth shut after realizing i was pregnant. He bought us a house, took care of you and took you to school. It was my choice to go back and work for them so that Naomi wouldn't suspect anything.

Sadic: that was you. Everyone fears the Anwar's as if they are some kind of gods.I don't care about what you settled for. What i did today was just an introduction..brace yourself for more that is yet to come. I will fight for my rightful place as an Anwar even if it means eliminating them starting with Niki then the mighty and powerful Eddy. Listen mother, You don't have to go back there, once I get everything from them we can leave this place and start a new life in the UK. I'm already working on something there.

Judith: you will do no such thing Sadic. i don't see why you want to get back at them I made the decision to keep you away from them because i knew being the son of a politician you would also be a target just like they are and I didn't want to loose you. I still don't so Stay away from the Anwar's.

Sadic: or what, you will get me arrested?

Judith: you had gone away for all that time, why have you come back to give me trouble Sadic?

Sadic: trouble, no you have not seen trouble. I'm just a son who wants to be accepted and identified with my father's name. You should have thought of me before making a selfish decision.

He threw mr. Anwar's photo on the table then picked his keys.

Judith: where are you going drunk?

She asked trying to hold him but he pushed her back!

Sadic: don't touch me!..

He staggered all the way to the door and on opening it he came face to face with Niki who held him as he was just about to fall.

Niki: Sadic!

When Judith heard Sadic call Niki, she came rushing out and was shocked to see her. She helped drag back Sadic into the house and lay him on the couch. Niki got up and faced Judith who was standing in such a way that could enable her to cover the photo on the table from Niki's sight but she was too late. Niki walked past her, picked the photo that was nicely framed and stared at it for a while before looking up to meet Judith's worried gaze.

Niki: what is my dad's photo doing here?....

Episode Twenty One

Sean dropped me home after apologizing severally on how the dinner had gone. None of them expected that and i couldn't get mad at him for that.

Sean: i think you have been doing an awesome job with the sean Anwar foundation and i think we should launch it officially next week.

Me: yes, it's about time. The donors are coming through, everything is falling into place and I think it's about time too.

Sean: we should meet up and make arrangements. We should organize an after party.

Me: okay.

I hugged him then we kissed before getting inside the house where Eva had dozed off on the couch. I didn't want to wake her up but my heels woke her up anyway..

Eva: you are back?

Me: yes, I didn't want to wake you.

Eva: well that's okay.

She said moving over so that I could sit beside her so i tucked my legs inside her blanket.

Eva: how was it?

Me: it was hell.

Eva: did Eddy and Sean pick a fight again?

Me: no. It was something else. I found it strange but Niki brought her boyfriend and when their househelp Judith saw him, she dropped an entire tray of glasses and after that, issues arose that no one ended up eating.

Eva: why would she do that?

Me: from what he told us, Judith is his mother but the only thing I don't understand is the mothers reaction.

Eva: maybe that's the last place she expected to see him.

Me: or maybe there is something going on that only the two of them know.

Eva shrugged her shoulder then we talked abit about Eddy and Sean then we had to talk about her.

Eva: Anthony booked me a flight. He wants me to go and see him.

Me: wait, which one is Anthony?

She smiled.

Eva: the one in the US.

Me: wait, are you serious right now?

Eva: so damn serious. I think he is serious about us.

Me: so what about mike, Philip, Ben, and Jonte. Who I'm i missing?

Eva: Mike wasn't serious about a relationship, Ben wanted me to give birth for him and I wasn't ready for that, Philip is so stingy and wouldn't give me a dime while Jonte was just a one night stand. Anthony is different and I'm actually in love with him.

Me: what about your mum?

Eva: I'm only going for a few months then I will be back. She will be okay. I got her all the medication she needs.

Me: so when are you leaving?

Eva: in two days.

Me: gosh, i will miss you...

I hugged her and held on to her for a while as I felt tears coming through. I couldn't imagine the few months without Eva around but i couldn't be selfish because she deserved a happy life after all she had been through.

Eva: I'm not going away forever you know.i will be back.

She said breaking free from the hug and I tried forcing a smile amidst my tears. She raised the pillow she had laid her head on earlier and picked some money then handed it over to me.

Me: no Eva i can't accept this.

Eva: take it. This is 40,000 from the money Dru gave me to betray our friendship. He is dead so he will not come after us. Do whatever you want with it. You have been so good to me and I don't know how else to say thank you.

I hugged her again then she wiped away my tears..

Our little moment was interrupted by a call from Eddy and I had to excuse myself to get it as Eva made herself comfortable for the night..

Me: hey..

Eddy: is it a bad time?

Me: no. Sean is not here if that's what you are asking.

Eddy: can I see you?

Me: now?

Eddy: yeah.

Me: can't it wait until tomorrow?

Eddy: no. It can't. It's a matter of life and death.

Me: where are you?

Eddy: parked outside your gate.

I thought Eddy wasn't serious but he actually was. It was around 11:43pm by then.

I told Eva i was seeing Eddy outside so that she could leave the door unlocked for me. I got out of the gate and Eddy opened the door to the car for me.

Me: where are we going?

Eddy: not far from here. Don't worry we won't be long.

I got into the car and Eddy drove off. My eyes were still teary and he noticed I had been crying.

Eddy: is it Sean?

Me: what?

Eddy: why were you crying?

Me: it's Eva. She is leaving the country. I just feel a bit sad but I will be okay.

He looked at me for a while then pulled over by the side of the road..

Eddy: we are here..

Me: where is here?

Eddy: I brought you out to have dinner with me.

Me: dinner!

He got a shawl on the back of his car and spread it in the middle of the road. The moon was up so bright and he didn't need candles. He had me sit then set some food that was nicely packed before me and a can soda for both of us.

He sat opposite me with his food and soda. Before anything else he handed me a single rose and I smelled it before putting it down on the shawl besides my phone.

Me: what is this about?

Eddy: I just wanted us to have dinner after the one at home got screwed.

Me: you didn't have to.

Eddy: I didn't but I wanted to. I meant it when I said I had missed you and as much as I hate seeing Sean all over you, I have to live with it.

I didn't know what to say so I remained silent listening to him. Eddy had an awkward way of spending time and opening up to someone. He was very unpredictable and interestingly fragile in a way. He would rant out all his days happenings and all i had to do was sit up and listen. Most of the time I felt like he lacked motherly love and attention and he found in me what he couldn't find in his mother, okay I don't know how how his relationship with his mother was because he barely talked about it but my guess was that it wasn't that great.

Eddy: I hope you are okay with my choice of food..

Me: yes, it's fine.

I smiled then took a bite of a piece of chicken. He fed me from his dish and we talked alot about his life and the things he had been through the few couple of weeks. He told me about the many differences he has with his dad and most of the time he would take away the privilleges from him as a punishment.

Eddy: Sean is everyone's favorite in the family while I'm the black sheep so i understand why you chose him.

I looked up at gim and our eyes met and on an attempt to look down he raised my chin and had me look at him.

Eddy: I know I'm not being fair to my brother. You look happy with him but what do I do about my feelings for you?

I didn't answer that either.

Eddy: I tried so hard to assume you don't exist but you are constantly in my head. Your laughter, your touch, your kisses I just can't shake off how you make me feel.

Me: shhhh!

I said putting my finger on his lips and staring deep in his eyes.

He licked my finger for a while like he was licking an ice cream then came closer and kissed me. I kissed him back and he pushed the dishes aside and we both got on our knees kissing as I unbuttoned his shirt while he unzipped my dressed. There was no talking except for heavy breath as we explored each other's body in the middle of a not busy road and for a moment i got caught up in the moment and forgot where I was untill a call came through Eddy's phone and attempts to ignore it failed as the caller was persistent. We stopped kissing and Eddy reached for his phone.

Eddy: wrong timing Niki!

Niki: Eddy,I need to talk to you about something.

Eddy: this must be interesting. Something Sean can't handle?

Niki: no. It has to be between you and i first. I need to see you.

Eddy: where are you?

Niki: on my way to my apartment. Can you come over?

Eddy: it's a few minutes to 1:00pm. Let me see you first thing tomorrow morning.

Niki: okay. Please, it's important that i talk to you first thing tomorrow.

Eddy: okay.

Eddy hanged up then looked at me and shook his head.

Eddy: that call saved you from alot.

He said planting a kiss on my lips as he pulled me up and held me by the waist. I had already zipped up my dress and was hoping Eddy could drop me home as soon as he finished taking the call. I couldn't believe we were actually making out on a road i mean it was romantic and stuff because not a single vehicle passed there but on second thoughts it would be much better if I spent the night in my bed and not in Eddy's arms. Sean knew I was at home and what if he found out about me and Eddy?

Eddy: what's going on in your beautiful head?

Me: aren't you scared of what we are doing?

Eddy: no, but I think you are aftraid of falling in love with me.

Me: why would you think that.

Eddy: I'm so full of problems, all my problems are solved by guns and incase you don't know,I've been hired to assassinate people before. You don't want that kind of problem in your life.

I hugged him so tight and he held on to me too.

Me: a few minutes ago I didn't know what to do after the kiss and everything but right now I just want to hold you in my arms and not let go. You are right, I'm afraid of falling in love with you but not for those reasons you have given.

Eddy: then why?

Me: because it would be unfair to both of you. I don't want to break Sean's heart. I love him too.

Eddy: too?

Me: yes,it sounds stupid but I'm I love with both of you. I just don't know how to handle it and i don't know how to let go of any of you. I don't want to hurt you and I don't want to hurt him either yet I feel like I'm being so selfish.

Eddy: it's not selfish to love.

Me: but it is to love two brothers at the same time. was that Niki?

Eddy: yes, she badly needed to talk to me but I will see her first time thing tomorrow.. hey look at me...

He cuped my face into his hands.

Eddy: it doesn't matter how this ends. I want you to know one thing..

Me: what?

Eddy: that I love you.

He hugged me again then I helped him pack and he drove me back home to get some rest...

Sadic woke up at around 4:00am and walked to the kitchen to fix himself some coffee as he was having a headache and he thought it was because of the caffeine that he couldn't live without.

Judith heard him and quickly got out of her room and went to where he was.

Judith: I'm glad you are awake.

Sadic: why?

Judith: there is a problem. Niki was here last night. She saw her father's photo on the table and started asking questions.

Sadic: and?

Judith: i lied to her but I don't think she bought it. She stormed out of here and you have to find her and convince her before everything comes out in the clear..

Sadic: what did you tell her.

Judith: that the photo meant nothing. We just saw the need to frame and keep it since he was a good employer and his death had been a big blow to everyone. That photo was just our way of remembering him.

Sadic: you should have told her the truth.

Judith: listen Sadic, I'm your mother and I know how you feel about your father missing in your life but right now is not a good time. There is so much going on in that family that if they learn about you, it might end badly for both of us please!

Sadic took his coffee as she continued pleading with him do do something to convince Niki and when he finished eith his coffee he assured her that he was on his way to take care of that.

Sadic left Judith's house at around 4:30am and drove all the way to Niki's apartment. He sat in his car outside the gate for a few minutes before he got out his gun from a bag that was under the back seat of his car and put some bullets in it then attached a silencer to it.

He got out of the car and walked to the gate and knocked. The guard asked who he was and what he wanted and he said he was Peterson and his girlfriend was I'm labour and he needed to take her to the hospital.

On hearing that, he guard opened the door and Sadic shot him in the head then dragged his body in the little room beside the gate and rushed to Niki's apartment.

When he got to the door he didn't knock, he shot at the door then let himself in and walked to Niki's room.

Niki was asleep so Sadic sat on the side of tge bed brushing the hair off her face and his touch made her wake up and when she saw him she quickly got up and moved away from him.

Sadic: you are afraid of me... Why?

Niki: you know who you are you son of...

Sadic: adding insults to what I'm feeling is making it so easy to do what brought me here.

Niki: what do you want with my family?

Sadic: just a recognition that I'm your father's son and my share of his property. See my mother was a coward so I'm claiming on her behalf.

Niki: and how do you attend to go about that?

Sadic: how about me cutting the brakes to your mother's car. Her death will give me access to get everything I want and that will be after killing Eddy. I hear he is the tough guy..

Niki: you won't make it that far.

Sadic: so far you are the only one who knows the truth and I'm here to shut you up.

Niki: what?

He got up from the bed and pointed his gun at her.

Sadic: you know I was actually begining to like you but as you know, we are siblings.

Niki: if we are siblings then why are you holding a gun to my face, I'm your little sitter.

Sadic: that might never get to accept me as her brother.

He noticed Niki search the bed with her hands trying to find her phone and before she could get it he shot her twice in the chest and she dropped on the bed...

Sadic: Goodbye Niki Anwar.

He left her there and quickly dashed out of her apartment before anyone noticed he was there. He got in his car wiped his gun and smiled briefly.

Sadic: one Anwar down, three more to go.

He put the gun away and drove off..

At around 6:23am in the morning, Eddy was at the gates to Niki's apartment and he was greeted by the sight of a crown gathered as if they were holding a discussion. He got closer and saw the guard's dead body.

Eddy pulled one guy aside and asked what happened.

Guy: no one knows what happened to him. W just found him dead and no house has raised and alarm so far.

When Eddy heard that, he quickly got out his phone, and called Niki but she was not answering her phone. He checked the text she had sent him giving him the direction to her place and he got the apartment number.

He literally ran searching for her apartment abd when he got there he noticed that the door had been shot so he got in and searched the two rooms in the house only to find Niki laying in sheets soaked in blood.

Eddy: Niki! ......Niki!

He called shaking her and feeling her pulse but she was already dead.

He got out of bed and stepped back.

Eddy,: no no no nooooo!

He held his head with both hands and hit the wardrobe so hard.

Eddy: you can't be dead Niki damnit!

He said getting his phone calling the police and after speaking to them he called Sean too..

Sean: hey bro what's up?

Eddy: i need you to get to Niki's apartment as soon as you can.

Sean: why, what's going on?

Eddy: she is dead Sean. Niki has been shot dead!....
