Bab 5

1053 Words
Joana took the cell phone that was on the table, sent a message to her lover. Shane, it's on the contacts. [Shane, where are you? Theres is your class today, right?] Leaving the cell phone to make up, a reply message appears. [Actually today is just Calculus class, but the lecturer changes the schedule to tomorrow. I'm still at home. Why? Want me to pick you up?] Joana smiled, then replied. [I'm going alone.] That girl left the room, stopped briefly right in front of Daniel's bedroom door. The floor in the room was littered with the eighteen year old boy's clothes and adult magazines. “Daniels!” Quickly Joana approached, seized the small object that was in Daniel's hand for him to consume immediately. It was clear from his shabby face and gaze that Daniel had long been immersed in illegal drugs. Joana stared in disbelief at the h****n pellets scattered at the sides of his feet. “When are you going to stop? Dad will back home today! Don't let him see you are still addicted like this after he left for service two months. Do you want to go to rehab again?” Joana growled, being ignored by Daniel. Only with a sarcastic smirk, Daniel looked for a cigarette that was on the bedside table to take a sip. "Come on, Joana! Why do you have to take care of me like this? I'm not a kid. Mom was never this worried. It's enough for her that I just live so that I can be his heir. You know, right?" Joana bent her knees, sat right in front of Daniel. Her sweet smile was engraved while combing her younger brother's blonde hair. "Of course I know your mother's ambition. But no matter what, you're my little brother. I will take care of you from growing as selfish as her.” Joana pulled the cigarette from the corner of Daniel's lips. “Shower, there! Breakfast!" There was no answer, then Joana got up from his seat to leave immediately. "Mama prepared dinner with our extended family to welcome dad home later. Are you going to ask your boyfriend again?” Joana's steps stopped, not yet turning around. Her hand still clenched on the side of the door. Her mind was locked on Shane. For the past two years, every time he came home from a business trip, his father would deliberately ask Joana to bring Shane to see him. Trying to show dislike so that Joana gets tired and stops her relationship. "I agree with daddy. That poor man is only want your money. You forgot? Even though he was always insulted at every family gathering, without any hesitation or embarrassment he would still come to see dad. How hard he tried to get into the Leandro family!” That smirk burned Joana's heart. Daniel also thinks the same about Shane. Leandro is a successful businessman in the retail field and has an only beautiful daughter who attracts business relations to make him a son-in-law. However, in the past two years, Leandro has been unable to persuade Joana to end her relationship with Shane. “No matter what you guys say, I'm just going to believe Shane. No one can destroy our love." Joana left in a huff. Daniel's laughter still hasn't disappeared. He reached for another small pack of h****n from under the pillow. He just wanted to float in this morning. * “This is yesterday's practicum report!” Joana kept the report paper that Audrey gave her on the table. Today's lecture material was successfully passed even though her heart was tangled after the atmosphere at home. "What's the matter, Beauty?" Audrey held Joana's hand and asked her to return to her seat. “Tell me first! Is that still about your stepmother?” Joana snorted in exasperation, resting her head on the table. "My dad is coming home. And as usual, he's going to mess up our relationship." "But Shane never complains about anything, does he?" "You don't seem to know Shane! He is good at hiding his feelings. I know his heart hurts every time my family curse him. Because of that, I replaced him crying.” The two left the classroom to sit in the campus cafeteria. Order some light menus to fill your stomach after lunch. "If you're so in love, why don't you guys just elope? Nowadays, is that so, right?” Audrey said while chopping noodles from the plate in front of her. "Even when it snows in Jakarta, Mr. Leandro will not approve of your relationship." Audrey chuckled a little even though her mouth was full of spicy fried noodles she was eating. There was no objection, what Audrey said was true. Caste differences became a stumbling block. A cliche problem in the world of romance, but that's what happened. “My medical studies are still long. I still need my dad's money until I graduate. How can you pawn your future for love like this? If I'm settled, at least we can live anywhere!” said Joana, then sucked her glass of orange juice until she was empty. "Be thankful your dad is still relaxed about your relationship. He just thinks you're not serious and will break up later." “This time is different, Audrey. I will love him forever." Audrey chuckled and tapped her head. “Why are you this drunk? All Shane has is good fortune by being born very handsome like a prince. But he doesn't have anything, honey! Open your eyes, this is not Cinderella's world. You guys are so different.” Not once or twice did Audrey want Joana for opening her eyes. The path of their love is very difficult. Her heart frantic, drove the car left the campus. Meeting with her lover can at least relieve fatigue. [Where are you?] The message only tick one. Snorting indignantly, Joana returned to driving her car around the main road in the afternoon. "His habit when working, cell phone stored in the locker! Why not just keep it in your pocket? If there is something important, how is it?" Joana turned around to go to the park. There's still time left until Shane finishes his work. She had to talk about her father's return from London.
