I bit down on the inside of my cheek, hating how hard this still was for me. Mason ushered me inside the car while he quickly rounded it and joined me inside. He closed the doors and windows before turning around to face me fully. He remained quiet with questioning eyes, silently asking me to continue. I fiddled with my fingers as I let the memories rush back like a flood. It all felt so fresh, reminding me just why I put my life on the line everyday. Because I had to.
