Chapter 3 : Death is also freedom 2 . . . She is 80% sure that she can fight half of them and the chance of escape while fighting was less than 50%. It's better to try than to wait for death. She thought. Suddenly, the aura that surrounds her changed. She's still the stunning beauty but there's something in her eyes that screams death. Luna took the ring in her pocket and wore it in her finger. It's better to secure it or she might lose it while fighting. As she prepares to have her first kill, the land suddenly moves. . . An earthquake! . . Luna was fast to react and moves toward Merith who was also caught of guard by the sudden earthquake. Luna's bare hand was now holding a knife that shone in darkish color. Merith who was finally aware, saw glimpse of death as she knows that she couldn't evade the attack on time. Her eyes was engulfed in fear. However, before Luna could slit her neck, her momentum was interrupted, and even her energy was lost. She couldn't even move a muscle and her body become numb. The earthquake becomes more strong and violent. Merith slowly breathes, relieved and her group felt like the cliff would crumble any time and without second thoughts, fired her gun at Luna who was now laying numb on the ground. Merith doesn't know if she hit her since the earthquake is too violent and it interfere with her shot. But blood could be seen in the ground and Luna was still laying there. They retreated but they could still see Luna rolling on the ground and being shaken by the earthquake. Soon, cracks could be found on the ground and the cliff starts to crumble! Luna felt so stupid as she stares at her hand. The once pale hand was now black. Luna never thought that the ring was actually poisonous! Such stupidity never happened to her before and it's really unexpected that the poison was too strong that even her immune body couldn't take it. It was too late when she realizes and couldn't do anything even after she was shot. However, it's strange that aside from being poisoned and paralyze, she didn't even feel hurt or dizzy. She's fully aware of her surroundings and she also know that the cliff wouldn't stand any longer. Worst scenarios, she would fall down the cliff and drown in the river. Or she would die because of blood lost even if she was lucky enough not to drown. The poison was still in her body and she doesn't know if it's deadly aside for the effects of paralyzing. No matter what the outcome would be, she would still meet the god of death. Luna, with no other choice, closed her eyes and accepted her death. She thought that Merith was actually right, Death is also freedom.
