By 8.00, people began to arrive at the building across the road. First a lone man, and within a few minutes the lights were switched on in the first floor offices. This was shortly followed by the arrival of one of the white vans Adam had seen the day before. Three men got out, unloaded some tools from the back, locked the van and rang the doorbell, which was answered by the man whom Adam had seen arrive earlier. Soon several more arrived with lights going on all over the building. It still was overcast and gloomy outside, although it had finally stopped raining.
