Chapter 13 Dan had always been big, and had always acted the fool from a little boy. Always wanting to make people laugh so everyone thought, not that he was stupid, but that he wasn’t particularly smart. They were dead wrong. He had a very sharp mind, just as sharp as his brother’s and maybe more so. He had caused his father years of worry as a teenager; all one needed to do was suggest something silly to Dan and he would do it, purely for the amusement value. He had always underestimated him in that regard, which was fine by him. He preferred to keep his talents hidden, surprising them when he let them glimpse his true potential. There was no reply to his text to Isobel the next morning, so deciding to give her a few hours, he got his gear on and set out for his morning training run.
