Though she had left, I still couldn't get those words off my head. Freya was not one to just make empty promises. She always ends up fulfilling whatever she says, and now I couldn't help but wonder what she's up to this time.
Nonetheless, I didn't let that get to me. She could as well go to hell for all I care. And the elders advocating for her? They are just as good as useless. If they think I'd succumb so easily to choose her as my mate, after everything she had done to me, then the joke is obviously on them.
My gaze shifted to Shannon when I closed the door, and she lowered her head, darting her eyes away as soon as she saw me turn.
