Chapter 3

Alexander stood straight "Miss Norris, I won't approve you speaking badly of your sister".

Debbie held his hand for him to stop. She raised her hand and wiped a stray tear from her eyes.

"It's okay, she's right. There's no way a nobody like me could be your sister. Other students are bearing Lyrah, check them".

Faith stopped her "There are students bearing Lyrah but none bearing Debbie, c'mon".

Debbie slightly pushed her away and ran out of the school. Alexander frowned as he watched her run off.

Rachel and Faith ran after her "Deb, where are you going?"

"You guys should head back, I just wanna be alone. I'll see you tomorrow".

One of the teachers walked up to Alexander and Felix as Rachel and Faith walked back into the school compound.

"Master Torres, may I ask why you want to search for Miss Torres at all means?"

Felix sighed "Tomorrow is her 15th birthday".

Rachel suddenly turned to Faith "Jeez, I forgot. Tomorrow is also Debbie's birthday".

"How old will she be?" Alexander asked. Rachel smiled "15 and we want to get her a huge cake with 15 candles".

Felix moved to Alexander "Are you okay?"

Alexander nodded "It's just, she looks so much like mum. When she held my hand, it was like mum holding us to go buy ice cream. I think she's the one".

Felix nodded "Then we'll come back tomorrow. I still want to confirm something".

After agreeing on that, they both left the school. Debbie walked home to meet her dad.

He hugged her "Deb, my princess. Did you cry, your eyes are puffy?"

Debbie wailed in his arms "Why didn't you tell me I was adopted?"

Philips sighed."I placed the file on my table knowing you'll see it. I'm sorry, I know that Lucille and Rainbow have been mean to you and I'm very sorry. I didn't know how to explain it to you so I placed the file on my table hoping you'll see it".

Debbie's eyes were teary as she pouted "Dad, who are my parents?"

Philips cuddled her "When you were adopted, you didn't have any family record. But you came with a pendant that seem to be one third of a full pendant. Your name is engraved in the front and parts of a name is engraved at the back".

Debbie sat up with a sniffle "Can I see it?" Philips nodded. He went in and came back with an emerald box.

Inside it was a sapphire pendant. Debbie removed it. She had seen it before, but where.

Philips wore it on her neck "It looks adorable on you".

Debbie smiled "Dad, can I keep it?" Philips nodded "Course, it's yours after all".

After chatting for a while, Debbie prepared lunch. When Rainbow and Lucille returned home, Philips ignored them and continued spending time with Debbie.

For the first time, that night, Debbie sat with the whole family for dinner.

When she woke up the next day, her father came into the room "Happy birthday my princess".

Debbie chuckled as she hugged him "Thank you so much Dad. Even if I get back with my family, you're still my dad".

Philips nodded and gifted her with a sapphire hair clip that matched the pendant. Debbie was so happy that she danced around the room.

She got dressed for school while singing and dancing around her room. When she came down, Rainbow and Lucille were dumbfounded.

She was putting on a black off-shoulder crop top with a flare knee-length skirt decorated with black and white flowers.

Her hair was packed in a high ponytail with the sapphire clip on the right side of the hair.

The pendant was also dangling from her neck and the star shaped earrings she wore perfected the look.

Philips hugged her "My, my, clocking 15 upgraded your beauty level. Here's lunch and have fun, okay?"

Debbie nodded as Philips instructed the driver to take her to school.

Immediately Debbie stepped into the school hall, everyone shouted "SURPRISE!"

Felix, Alexander, Rachel and Faith walked to her with a huge step cake topper with 15 candles.

"Princess Debbie, happy 15th birthday, please come home with us". Debbie was so happy that she burst into tears.
