Lucy was frozen with shock at the sight of Renzo sitting with Luciano. Her heart jumped into her throat. She and Rosa had worked so hard to hide Renzo from the one man who always seemed to appear out of thin air, yet here they were—the two people who should never have known of each other’s existence, bonding over ice cream. Suppressing her panic, she darted toward Renzo and scolded him in a low, trembling tone. ”Why did you leave without telling me, Renzo?
