The morning light in the hospital ward was clinical and cold, mocking the exhaustion deep in Rosa’s bones. She had spent the night in a plastic chair, her hand resting on Renzo’s small, rhythmic chest. When Lucy arrived, she looked far too energized for 7:00 AM. She was excited that Renzo was going home today. "Go," Lucy whispered, gently nudging Rosa toward the door. "The doctor won’t be here for another hour to sign the papers.
