Chapter 5It was a week later when Dustin went to inform his lieutenant he needed time off at the middle of January for his required interviews. He was relieved that his commanding officer didn’t give him any hassle. And even said he thought he’d make a great candidate.
As he went back to his desk, his thoughts on the possible future, he was greeted by another detective from Internal Affairs, Rowena Grange.
“You look far away,” she commented as she sat on the edge of his desk.
He smiled at her. “Sorry, I’ve got my mind on a lot of different things.”
“The holidays?’
Dustin laughed. “Those are really the least of it. I have my plans for Christmas, so it’s not that.”
