Chapter 4

Jennifer knew that Liam West was a dangerous person, so she always behaved politely towards him. Actually, back in high school, Liam West didn't pursue her, but only teased her a few times. Jennifer smiled awkwardly, "What are you saying? I thought there are many women who would want to be your girlfriend. How could I get a turn?" Liam West ignored Jennifer's words. He stared deeply into her eyes. "If I said that I'm missing one more girlfriend right now, would you like to be my girlfriend?" Actually, Jennifer really disliked Liam West. But now, she couldn't go back home, so she needed his help. "Mr. West, please don't tease me. You couldn't possibly be lacking a girlfriend. Besides, as you know, I'm already engaged to Stefan." Liam West smiled, "Really? Stefan is your fiancé? Can he really be relied upon? You haven't seen each other for three years. Your marriage might not..." Jennifer felt a little annoyed, but she forced a smile. At least for now, she couldn't offend Liam West. Jennifer really didn't want to discuss this with Liam West anymore, so she changed the subject. "Mr. West, I just came back from abroad, and the guards here don't recognize me. Could you please take me inside?" Liam West raised his eyebrows and politely opened the door of his car. "It's an honor for me to escort a beautiful woman. Please come in." Jennifer glanced at Liam West's blue Infiniti car and gave a small smile. "I'll sit in the back seat only. I'm afraid of getting carsick." Liam West was very strange, so Jennifer had to keep her distance from him... Liam West didn't want to debate Jennifer's choice. "Then, it's up to you." The guards immediately allowed Liam West's car in. On the way, Liam West engaged in small talk with Jennifer, "Looking at the weather now, it seems like it's going to rain soon." Jennifer politely replied, "Yes." Then, she looked out the car window. Currently, the sky was very dark, the surrounding trees looked very green, and luxurious villas were scattered everywhere. After hearing the brief answer, Liam West stopped talking and focused on driving. Not long after, Jennifer saw her family's villa. The European-style iron gate slowly opened. Liam West stopped the car and opened the door for Jennifer. Jennifer looked up at him. "Thank you for driving me home. It seems like you're very busy, so I don't need to invite you in." However, Liam West seemed unwilling to leave. He said with a smile, "Jennifer, after using me, do you want to distance yourself from me? This is already in front of your house, don't you want to invite me in?" Jennifer frowned slightly, but she quickly smiled, "How could that be? Then, please come in." Liam West followed Jennifer's steps. After entering the gate, Jennifer saw a silver Pagani car and a red Cayenne parked in the yard. "Did Grandpa change his car? But that's not possible either. Grandpa has always liked the Phaeton. Even if Grandpa bought another car, he wouldn't choose such a flashy color. Maybe there are guests at home..." Jennifer thought. Then, Jennifer entered the house. Before entering the main living room, she heard laughter from inside. "We're all going to be family, so why are you still so formal?" "Grandpa, let's have this vegetable dish. Stefan, don't you like this dish? Well, how does it taste? Delicious?" Jennifer was very confused… When she heard the name Stefan, Jennifer's eyes immediately lit up. "Did Stefan come to the house today? No wonder there are more cars in the yard," Jennifer thought. Thinking about this possibility, Jennifer felt extremely joyful. She quickly stepped forward and was about to call out her fiancé's name. But when she saw the sight in front of her, all her words seemed to get stuck in her throat. Jennifer hadn't seen Stefan for three years. Now, Stefan looked even more handsome than before. Then, Jennifer immediately saw a woman cuddling in Stefan's arms. Although she couldn't see the woman's face, Jennifer could sense the affection in Stefan's eyes. Jennifer couldn't accept the scene in front of her. Jennifer's shoulders trembled slightly, and her eyes became slightly watery. She could barely stand upright. Liam West held her and whispered in her ear, "How about it? Are you satisfied with your fiancé?" Jennifer pushed away Liam West's hand and slowly walked forward. At the same time, everyone's attention was focused on Jennifer and Liam West. They were surprised and stopped laughing. Finally, Stefan turned his head and was also shocked. Stefan's facial expression instantly changed. However, he didn't push the woman in his arms away. Jennifer bit her lip. She wanted to know how Stefan would explain this to her... If his reasons were reasonable, she would believe him. Before Stefan could speak, the woman in his arms realized that something was wrong. She turned and saw Jennifer. "How is it possible?" Jennifer thought. As the woman turned around, her beautiful face made Jennifer's eyes widen. Her whole body felt stiff... Turns out her cousin and fiancé had betrayed her. Is there anything more difficult to accept than this? In an instant, the atmosphere felt incredibly awkward. Jennifer's attention immediately turned to her cousin, Jenna. Then, her gaze swept across everyone in the living room. Currently, a family party was being held at Grandpa Leon's house. All of their relatives had gathered here, including Grandpa, Grandma, uncles, cousins, and her fiancé. Jennifer felt hurt. Clearly, they had given their approval to Jenna and Stefan's relationship. Perhaps they had long regarded Jennifer as an outsider. The first to react was Stefan, "Jennifer, why did you come back so early? Weren't you studying London?" With a worried expression, Jenna interrupted Stefan's words, "Jennifer, why didn't you tell us you were coming back? You just act according to your own wishes. We haven't even prepared anything for you." Jenna's voice was melodious. But she accused Jennifer of acting on her own whims, when in fact, Jenna was the one who judged Jennifer as she pleased... Actually, only their grandparents lived in this villa, so Jennifer came back alone to surprise them. But the reality was that they were the ones who surprised her. Jennifer took a deep breath and held back her tears. "Jenna, if I had told you all, wouldn't I have missed seeing this beautiful view? Were you secretly discussing your wedding with Stefan?" Then, Grandpa Leon, Lean Nichole, stood up and reprimanded Jennifer. Leon Nichole said coldly, "Jennifer, you just came back. Don't cause trouble. We have guests today, don't air our family's issues." Jenna echoed with concern, "That's right, Jennifer. I understand your emotions right now, but today's issue is very complicated, so we'll explain it to you later." Even Stefan stood up and scolded her, "Jennifer, don't be too spoiled." Listening to Stefan's words, Jennifer stared at them with an empty gaze. Apparently, in their eyes, her return was just a joke. They regarded her as acting on her own whims... As a stranger there, Liam only smiled faintly, "I never expected to witness such a good show today." At that moment, Jenna's father, Leon Bowen, stood up and said in a cold voice, "Mr. Liam, this is our family's private affair. You are an outsider, so it would be best if you didn't interfere." "What if I want to interfere?" Liam glanced at Mr Bowen with disgust, then looked at Jennifer. Silently observing Jennifer trying to hold back her tears and trembling body. When Liam was about to say something, his phone suddenly vibrated. After looking at the content of the text message, his expression suddenly changed. Liam looked at Jennifer and said, "There's something important I need to take care of, so it seems I can't help you." After speaking, he immediately left. Jennifer slowly closed her eyes and calmed her emotions, but her hands were still tightly clenched. "Now that he's gone, can you give me an explanation?" Jennifer asked, her voice trembling. Hearing Jennifer's question, Jenna looked at Stefan helplessly. Stefan gently touched Jenna's hair and looked at Jennifer with guilt, "I'm sorry, Jennifer. We've wronged you. I actually wanted to explain it to you, but I didn't know how to say it." Seeing the intimacy between them, Jennifer felt a deep pain in her heart. "So you can be intimate with my sister, but also send messages to me?" Stefan didn't know what to say. Jenna felt the stiffness in Stefan's body. "Jennifer, can't you not force Stefan? He also wanted to explain it to you earlier, but he was worried about your situation and afraid of hurting you. So, he didn't explain it until now. Besides, we didn't know you would come back so soon..." But they were the ones who betrayed Jennifer, so why was she being treated like the villain? Jennifer's heart ached, as if being stabbed by a sharp needle. "If you were really worried and afraid of hurting me, you wouldn't have betrayed me." Finally, Leon Nichole couldn't contain himself. He slammed the table hard. "Enough! Jennifer, aren't you embarrassed enough today? Calm down first. Stefan and Jenna love each other, so stop blaming them both." They love each other? Didn't Jennifer and Stefan also love each other before? "Jennifer, back then you were still young. Actually, I saw you as my own little sister. Let bygones be bygones. Now Jenna has become my woman..." Hearing these words, Jennifer's body felt weak and powerless. What should she do? Jennifer was going to lose Stefan, the one who had promised to protect her for a lifetime. Jennifer lowered her head and laughed loudly, then ran outside. It was pouring rain outside. The figure filled with sadness disappeared from their sight.
