I want to believe him with all my heart. I really do. But he had promised me before and slipped up. Only I feel this time will be different. He finally opened up to me about his parents, and that spoke to my heart. He was sincerely hurting. I just didn’t know how deep his hurt ran until now. He is scared of becoming like his dad.
I have heard as a child how good the old king was to his people, but this is a side of him I have never heard before. I also knew he had a son and loved his mate, but to find out he cheated on her is something you don’t hear about. Of course, I would never have believed I would fall in love with his son or become his mate.
