Hunter coasted the SUV out on the road then pulled over,
“Did you see them?” he asked.
Olivia shook her head, “It happened too fast although from their build I’m almost certain they were female.”
“My thoughts exactly.”
“Do you want to go back and check whether they’ve be hiding there?”
“Do you?”
A part of her did but what if the person had returned, what if it was Nina or her twin and the knife was there. The knife, bugger it they were going back.
“Liv?”
“Go back, drive the car up as close as you can to the house.”
“And? What are you thinking?”
“That if this is their hideout or one of the places they’ve been hiding, perhaps the knife is here.”
He leaned over and kissed her, “Always knew you were a smart girl and a courageous one.”
