Chapter 35 Calvin sat on a pale blue stone bench high above the Baymaster’s hut, his back to Calys Bay, doing his best not to fidget under the Baymaster’s fierce attention. Vasan reclined on a bench designed for Ajaran bodies, but he wasn’t watching three comms at once as he had been when Calvin convinced him to close Ajar 12’s waterways. The indigo face and black eye depressions were all aimed at Calvin, and he had no doubt Vasan’s considerable agitation and frustration were, too. The late afternoon breeze alternated between spring warmth and departing winter’s chill, a sure sign of the threatening storms. Storms that would drive infected water far inland and pour infected rain all across the continent. Calvin had loved watching the seasonal storm clouds slowly gather on the horizon
