Chapter 47 –––––––– The Ja Lama’s face was staring right down into mine, so when I stabbed him in the side of the neck, it was a literal bloodbath. Blood burst out of him and poured down over me, and he made this little astonished sound I will never forget. His right hand flew up to the wound as if to stop the flow, but I stabbed him again twice in quick succession, and his eyes got very large. He made a sound like “nnnngggg” and then slumped over, and I pushed him off of me as well as I could.
