Chapter 6: The Nightmare Realm
Lyra walked through the dreamscape, her senses on high alert. She could feel the presence of the Shadowborn, their dark energy lurking just out of sight.
Suddenly, the dreamscape shifted and changed, and Lyra found herself standing at the edge of a dark and foreboding forest. The trees loomed above her, their branches twisted and gnarled.
"Welcome to the Nightmare Realm," Kael's voice whispered in her ear.
Lyra spun around, but Kael was nowhere to be seen. She was alone in the Nightmare Realm, surrounded by the dark creations of the human psyche.
As she walked through the forest, Lyra encountered all manner of terrifying creatures. There were giant spiders with glowing red eyes, and twisted, humanoid figures with skin like decaying flesh.
But Lyra was not afraid. She was a Dream Walker, and she knew that she had the power to shape the dreamscape.
She raised her hands, and a blast of energy shot out, illuminating the dark forest. The creatures recoiled, covering their eyes from the light.
Lyra walked on, her heart pounding with excitement. She was exploring the deepest, darkest recesses of the human mind, and she was discovering the true extent of her powers.
As she walked, the forest grew denser, the trees becoming more twisted and gnarled. Lyra could feel the presence of the Shadowborn, their dark energy growing stronger with every step.
Suddenly, the trees parted, and Lyra found herself standing at the edge of a clearing. In the center of the clearing stood a figure, its back to Lyra.
"Who are you?" Lyra called out, her voice echoing through the forest.
The figure slowly turned, its face twisted into a grotesque grin.
"Welcome, Lyra," it said, its voice dripping with malice. "I have been waiting for you."
