Gaius shot the Gaul an angry look. He knew Vitorix’s pride was more hurt than anything, but he worried what he might do. The last few months had seen them all lose much of the civility that separated them from the animals they had fought and killed along the way. As Gaius eyed Talia, he realized she reminded him of his daughters, and of Daxos, oddly enough.
