Chapter 4

1964 Words
Elisa’s POV: As we got closer to the Emerald Pack’s territory, I was getting more and more nervous. We saw wolves running near us, probably patrolling the borders. Wolves tend to choose rural areas to live in, so we can take advantage of the land and not be concerned about running into humans. I could see people getting out of their houses. Probably curious as to who was arriving. - “Welcome to The Emerald Pack”- Landon, the pack's Gamma announced. - “Thank you” – I answered, offering a tight smile. Kristen had fallen asleep the whole ride. It was a long one from the airport. – “Kristen, wake up princess. We are going to arrive at the castle soon.” - “Where? I want to see it.” - “After we cross the lake, you’ll be able to spot the pack house. It is not long now.” – Landon replied. I was helping Kristen fix her hair band when I saw it. The pack house really looked like a palace. It had six round gothic towers, with tall fortress-like walls covered with climbing plants that made it look like taken out of a fairy tale. My eyes mirrored Kristen’s. We were both pleasantly surprised and kind of fascinated with the place. As we got closer, I could see two wolves flanking the entrance of the palace and some people at the entrance ready to welcome us. The car came to a stop. It was time to be brave. “Are you ready princess?” - I asked Kristen. – “It’s time to get to know the owners of the castle.” “Are they royalty?” - She asked in a hushed voice. “No Kris, they are not. But we have to behave and be nice to Alpha Edmon and Luna Erin. They are receiving us in their home.” “Okay.” – I could see how nervous she was. Her hands kept playing with the hem of her shirt. “Don’t be scared, Kristen. We are here together, and I am here for you for anything you need. Now, let’s begin our adventure.” - Her eyes lighted up. We got down from the car as a redheaded beauty approached us. “Hello Elisa. Hello Kristen. I am Luna Erin. We are so pleased to have you in our home. This is my husband, Alpha Edmund, and this is my daughter, Alice.”- She had vibrant curly, red hair and caramel-colored eyes. Her daughter was a younger version of her, same hair, same eyes, but she had a more edgy look on her face. Alpha Edmund, on the other hand, had light short brown hair, and a trimmed beard that made him look wise. I was looking for the missing family member, though. Where was her son? If he wanted to marry me, wasn’t he supposed to at least greet me when I arrived? “Welcome to the Emerald pack” – Alpha Edmund continued getting me out of my own thoughts. – “As my wife just said, we are pleased to have you as our guest. We hope you make yourselves at home. Elisa, I apologize on behalf of my son, Jason. He is attending a meeting with the neighboring packs. He will be back next week.” “Thank you for your hospitality and your kindness. You have a beautiful home. I am sure your son and I will get to know each other later on.” – I couldn’t believe we were talking about this already. Kristen and I hadn’t even settled ourselves. “I am sure of it.” - Luna Erin replied with a warm smile on her face. – “You must be tired from your trip. Let me show you to your rooms.” “You are so thoughtful. Please lead the way.” - I answered gratefully. I couldn’t sleep on our way here, so I was tired. I just wanted to sleep for a while. We walked through the deserted passages of the castle. The decoration was really something. The walls were covered with paintings and beautiful pieces of art. There were different statues and ceramic wonders. It all seemed out of a history book. Luna Erin was sure to give us a small tour as we walked to the rooms. “The first floor is made of the common areas. We have a game room, a movie theater, the dinning room, the kitchen and there are some bedrooms in the east wing for the unmatted wolves that like to live here. On the second floor you’ll find our alpha’s office, my office, and the conference rooms. From the third floor onward are the rooms for the ranked wolves of the pack. The north wing is for our Gamma, Landon, and his family. The south wing is for Beta Chris and his family, and the east wing is for the Alpha’s family. On the west wing, where your rooms are, are the rooms for our guests. I hope they are to your liking. We put your bedroom next to one another.” – We would have a whole wing to ourselves, that sounded interesting. And I was glad it wasn’t too close to Jason’s room. “Thank you so much. We really appreciate it.” “It is my pleasure. Please be sure to let me know if you need anything else. We will have dinner at 6, if you’d like to join us.” “We would love to. Thank you again for your hospitality.”- Luna Erin smiled at my words and left us alone. Kristen and I entered her room first. It was as big as the one she had back home. Her window had an amazing view of the forest. I was sure sunsets must be amazing from up here. Erika started unpacking Kristen’s stuff while she explored her room. She seemed happy about it. “Elisa, look at my princess bed. It is so comfy.” – Kristen said while jumping on her bed “Be careful princess. The bed looks amazing. How about we go to explore my room now?” We entered my room and were amazed to see it had its own living room and a balcony too. The view to the lake was outstanding. The sunset would definitely look much better from here. It even had a tea table outside. I loved it. The room was decorated with bright and war colors. And the bathroom had a tube I couldn’t wait to use. “Your room is bigger than mine! That is not fair!”- My sister said with a pout on her face. “It is Kris. I am older, remember? But, I can let you sleep on my bed for now if you want. We could have a sleep over.” “Yes! Let me get Mr. Cuddles first.” – She ran out the room and came back with the stuffed elephant I bought for her when she was born. It was nice to see how much she liked it. After a 4 hour nap, it was time to get down and meet everyone. Erika helped get Kristen ready. I decided to wear a casual white dress. It made me look kind of innocent. Not sure that’s how I would describe myself, but I needed to look nice and not too aggressive for now. It would be best if I saved the leather jackets and skirts for latter. We went down to the dining room and saw probably every pack member talking and eating. Some of them turned to look at us, while others didn’t really pay us attention. Alice was talking to a group of shewolves nearby. “Elisa! Hi!” – She waved and signaled for us to come over. – “Hey everyone, this is Elisa and her little sister, Kristen. They are Alpha Edward’s daughters from the Crescent Pack. They will be staying with us for a while. Elisa this are my friends Alex and Monique.” “Hi! It is nice to meet you. I love your shoes.” – I pointed to Monique’s green stilettos. They were gorgeous. “I love you already. See Alex, I told you they weren’t too much.”- Monique answer as she flipped her long black hair. “It is not an everyday kind of outfit. That’s all I am saying.” – Alex answered. She was wearing a red sweater that fell down her shoulders, jeans, and white snickers. – “It is really nice to meet you, Elisa and you too, Kristen. I guess Monique got herself a partner for her crazy shopping.” “I can definitely sing up for those.” – Monique giggled with me. The conversation was nice. It seemed as if we had been friends for a while. “We have to leave girls. See you tomorrow at school.” – Alice took my hand and lead us to the other side of the room. – “ My parents are waiting for us. They would like to present you to the rest of the pack.” We got to our table and I spotted Alpha Edmund, his Luna and two other adults on the table who introduced themselves as Beta Chris and Beta Samantha. After we made some small talk, Aplha Edmund got everyone's attention. “Good evening, everyone. I would like to introduce our new guests, Elisa, and her sister Kristen. They are daughters of the Crescent Pack’s Alpha in America. I want you all to make them feel at home. They will be staying with us for a long while.” – Now everyone’s eyes were on us. At least tomorrow I wouldn’t be the new kid at school. – “Please enjoy your dinner and have a great night.” The rest of the week went by quickly. School was nice and I shared most of my classes with Monique or Alice. Kristen also liked her new school and made some new friends who she played with after class. Soon it was the weekend. I got down for breakfast earlier than usual. Apparently not many people woke up early on the weekends. As I was pouring myself some orange juice, I heard someone come in. “Hey! Why are you stealing my orange juice?” – I turned to find a well-built, tall guy with caramel eyes and brown, short, wavy hair. “I didn’t know the whole jar had an owner.” – I said, sipping the last drops. “Now you know.” – He gave me a cooky smile while pouring himself a glass. “Usually, I don’t deal with juice thieves, since no one is up this early.” “I am no thief. Besides, I am sure you could spare a glass from the whole jar.” “I guess I can.” – His voice was deep and velvety. It sounded kind of sexy. – “But if I am going to be sharing my prize possession, then you at least need to give me your name.” “Elisa Crescent.”- I said while extending my hand. – “And you are?” “Jason Emerald”– He replied while holding it. – “Nice to meet you Elisa.” NOTE: Hi everyone!
