Family heads meeting

Their hearts started raising again when the shockwave disappeared.

“You were right Nyx, he really did it to protect me. This guys was very anxious to meet me all this time.” Caisein said as mist covers his body.

Everyone was rendered speechless when the mist disappeared and saw Caisein holding the holy sword in his hand.

“This day marks the return of the long lost swords from our families.” Caisein said as he raise the holy sword Frostmourne up.

[The next day]

[I never thought that both the holy sword Ascalon and Frostmourne will return to them in just a day, there must be something urgent that force the holy sword out of my magic bag.]

(Magic bag = where Raven store all the things like meat, elixir and some other things that seems useful to him. Its storage is limitless but cannot sort anything that doesn’t fit on its opening.)

[Supressing both the mana aura of the holy sword Ascalon and Frostmourne is pretty tiring so I think it’s a good thing that they left, the holy sword Fragarach alone is very hard to suppress let alone the other holy swords as well.]

Raven thought as he walk towards the academy when he notices some strong mana aura inside the academy as he passed through the entrance.

[What is going on now? There is so much strong mana aura gathering in a single spot, is it because of what happened yesterday?] he thought as he saw some persons who does not wear a student’s uniform. [Those are not uniforms from the academy, perhaps they are visitors.]

While Raven was walking pass through the crowd, Nyx and Caisein saw him walking alone and rushed towards him the instant they saw him.

*SWOOOSH!*

Nyx appeared in front of Raven in a flash.

“This humble – ugh!“

*BOINK!*

Nyx was interrupted when Caisein immediately appeared and struck his head as he bow in front of Raven.

“Good morning Raven, sorry about that. He might have forgot what you said earlier. Don’t worry I will be watching over this dude so that he will remember what you asked us.” Caisein said with a smile as he keep Nyx’s head down with his hand.

Nyx yank his head to free himself from Caisein’s grasp.

“What are you doing? I was just greeting the- mhmff mhmff”

Nyx said in a muffled voice as Caisein covers his mouth.

“There he goes again. Well, good thing I am here.” Caisein said as he covers Nyx’s mouth.

Nyx grab and removes his hand from his mouth.

“I apologize for forgetting what you asked of us Raven, I will be sure to change slowly just as you asked.” Nyx said in a humble voice.

Caisein was about to cover his mouth again if he was to do the same thing he did earlier. Raven smiles after seeing them getting more and more active and conscious as they try to comply with his wishes.

“Well I’m glad that both of you are trying your bests.” He said as he walks towards them. “By the way, why is there so many strong mana aura gathering inside the academy?” Raven asked as he points to the people wearing different clothes.

Nyx and Caisein’s eyes follows Raven finger and saw the people he is referring to.

“Oh, that? There is going to be a meeting with the elders of the academy regarding the incident yesterday that Kris used a holy sword in a duel.” Caisein said as he gestured an “Oh I see” after seeing the people. “All of the main families are going to come as well, most of them are already here except for Kai’ family members, the elves are quite the celebrities so they have to come here without causing a commotion.” He added.

“Oh, is that so. I was already thinking that it must have been what happened yesterday. So I was not wrong after all.” Raven said as he touches his chin.

“There is nothing much to do today, the instructors are continuing the physical test to keep the commotion to a minimum. That is one of the academy’s solution to keep everyone in check so that they can also showcase the abilities of the students to the main family even the guild master is going to be here.” Nyx added.

“Why did that kid had to do that yesterday. Dealing with the main families is quite a troublesome job. Have you not think about the consequences when he said he will show everyone his might when he uses the holy sword Durandal? Did it not occurred to you that everything that Elder Rigor may go to waste with a single misstep?” Elder Yasrat said to the person beside him as he walks in a hurry.

“I am very sorry father. I did not think that he was serious when he said that he will use Durandal in that duel. I thought he was bluffing since he was smiling the whole time.” He replied while trying to keep up with Elder Yasrat’s pace.

*SLAP!*

“Is that the result of sleeping to countless women in that brothel? Has your brain had rotten? Elder Rigor entrusted that experiment to me and gave that task for you to redeem yourself since your image is tarnished by what you were doing in the past that I have to endure the harsh words thrown at me by Elder Nuu.” Elder Yasrat said as he stare at the person beside him with dreadful eyes.

[This bastard doesn’t think properly at all! Maybe Elder Nuu was saying the truth that we should not have family members as assistants after all.] he thought as he continues to walk after slapping his son.

“I apologize for my incompetence and idiocy father” the man said as he bows his head. [This old geezer, he dares to slap me for a single o bumistake when he did not slap himself for not raising me the right way.] he thought as he stare at Elder Yasrat’s back as he walks away following behind him.

*Creak!*

*Door opens*

Elder Yasrat stepped inside the room seeing Elder Rigor sitting on one of the chairs.

“Good day Elder Yasrat, I have made some solutions to keep the commotion to mimimun, Elder Nuu is out there implementing what I decided.” Elder Rigor said as he rolls a pen on the table. “So how do you think we can escape this predicament? Is the experiment coming in smoothly? He asked with a stern expression.

*GULP!*

“I don’t think that there will be trouble with the main families Elder, Kris Reynolds promise to keep the deal we made to himself. So there is no need to worry about a thing.” He said with a nervous tone. “Regarding the experiment about the Caladbolg, we are slowly progressing. We are currently gathering everything to imbue it with.” He said with a confident tone.

Elder Rigor is staring at him with his piercing gaze.

“You do not sound very confident about the problem with Kris Reynolds, are you sure that he will not say anything about our experiment?” he asked.

[Was I nervous when I said that there is no need to worry about a thing?] he thought as he was taken aback by Elder Rigor’s remark.

“Of course I am sure Elder Rigor, humans are inferior to demi-humans in every way. There is no way that he will plainly tell them that the humans are experimenting on making themselves stronger. The demi-humans are looking down on us for a long time and it is time to end that mindset. Modifying our magic and mixing it with a bit of demon’s magic is very effective, we saw how it turned out in that duel, even the successor of the Arcan family had a hard time dealing with a modified ability of Kris Reynolds.” He said with a confident smile.

[I can’t fail to meet his expectations, basing on what happened back there. Nyx Arcan manage to deal with Kris’ modified mana manipulation that urged him to bring out Durandal. That shows that a demi-human needs to go all out to defeat a modified human mana in order to defeat one.] he thought as he flashes as smile.

“That is good to hear, then I will not pursue the issue any longer. Please make sure that this doesn’t happen next time. We may not be able to deal with it when that time comes.” Elder Rigor said as he stood up from his chair. “Let us go, the family heads of the main families are waiting for us. Even if you are sure that Kris Reynolds will not leak any information to the main families, they will not stay quiet knowing that a successor casually used a holy sword in a duel.” He continued.

“I understand.” Elder Yasrat said with a humble voice.

The two walk outside the Elders building to another building where the family heads are waiting.

“What is keeping the elders away for so long?” the head of the Eran family said as he taps his finger on the table.

“Now, now, now. Please keep your calm Gilbert, you look like you are angrier than I am when it was my child was the one facing off Kamir’s kid with a holy sword.” Rowan said with a smile in his face.

“I apologize for my child’s behavior. He may not look like it, but he is a good kid. It was my fault for not observing him more closely.” Kamir Reynolds said as he bow his head to apologize to Rowan.

“Now, now, now. You don’t need to apologize Kamir. This is your tenth apologize this morning, are you not tired of bowing your head that much? The injuries are not that bad and there are no other casualties involved so there is not much to apologize for.” Rowan said with a smile in his face.

“But it was-“

Kamir was interrupted when Rowan covered his mouth.

“That is enough, I grew tired of hearing you apologize you know.” He said with an eager stare.

*Creak*

“You are too soft Rowan, even if he was sorry. It is his responsibility to take care of his family members and keep them from acting out in the public like what his son did.” An elf said as he entered the room.

*Closes the door*

Everyone turns their head after hearing a familiar voice and saw a handsome elf standing beside the door. His graceful and elegant swift move as he sit on one of the chairs left them in awe. His golden hair followed his back as it swayed back and forth.

“What is wrong everyone?” he said with an elegant tone.

Everyone snaps out as they stare at each other.

[An elf really is out of this world.] Gilbert thought as he shakes his head. “Blake is right, it is still Kamir’s responsibility. We may not blame him for everything since every family heads are busy in their own business.” Gilbert said with a stern expression. “But to let your son run amok with a holy swo- mfff”

Gilbert’s rant was stopped when Rowan reach out to his mouth and forcefully covers it with his hands to keep him from saying any more. The elf family head chuckle at their comedic sight.

“Both of you do not change at all.” He said with a chuckle.

“I know that we cannot put the blame on Kamir’s shoulders alone, but for a successor to use a holy blade in a duel is very concerning in so many ways. The holy swords are not normal instruments for a fight, all of us know how dangerous a single holy sword can be. On a different topic, I heard from my son that the holy sword of the Arcan family returned, the holy sword Ascalon I mean.” A human with a grey hair said with a cold expression.

Everyone’s face turned serious except for Rowan and Gilbert.

“I also heard from little Kai about that. Nevertheless, it is a good news rather than a bad one since it was lost three hundred years ago. It appearing out of nowhere is more concerning than what Kamir’s son did.” Blake Lenus said as he holds his chin.

Everyone turned their head towards him after hearing what he said.

“Not that I allow it of course, it is indeed concerning to have someone whip out a holy sword for nothing but a mere duel.” He continued with a smile.

All of them wore a blank expression as they stare at the gullible elf.

[Don’t stop all of the sudden. You are making us misunderstand your point if you do that always.]

They all thought as the elf gaze at them with a confused expression.

*Creak*

Opens door*

“I apologize for making all of you wait in your busy schedules.”

Elder Rigor said as the other elders follow behind him as they enter the room.
