Meeting on heat

After selling everything at the noble family of Arcan, he and his mother went to a cloth store and bought some new clothes for Raven to wear when walking around the city. [This boy helped me a lot so it is only right for me to give him a little reward for working hard.] she thought as she brought Raven to a store that sells some decent clothes for a good price. After bringing Raven to a lot of quite pricey stores they settle in a store with some decent clothes with a decent price. “Thank you for choosing our shop!” the teller shouted as she bowed down. *sound of the doorbell* The doorbell clink as they left the store with everything they bought. Raven already bought everything he said that he needs at the market. *Door opens* *Creak* “Woooo! I’m beat!” he exclaimed trying to mask his himself as tired. Raven put everything they bought on the table. [Isn’t this too much? I know mother appreciate what I did to help her but isn’t this a little too much?] he thought as he stare at the pile of good they bought. They mostly bought clothes and the rest are for their household needs for cooking, cleaning, new pots and utensils. “Before you head upstairs make sure you put everything in the sink okay? I’m going to wash everything before we use them.” She said while changer her clothes in her room. “Okay Mom.” Raven took all the utensils, pots and other things that they bought for cooking to the sink. [Tomorrow is my first day at the academy, I can’t wait to learn new things that I could not learn from Aranx.] he thought as he smile for his great expectation. After putting everything his mother asked him to the sink, he went upstairs bringing with him all the clothes that his mother bought for him. [These clothes are very decent, Aranx taught me how to make clothes because it is really easy to make one and I tried to argue with her that we don’t need to buy clothes but she insisted on buying some.] he thought as he picture in his mind what happened. “*Sigh*, what can I do? Mom is mom after all.” *Knock* *Knock* “Dear, you need to go to sleep early okay? You have your first day at the academy tomorrow remember?” she reminded. “Yes, mom. I was just getting ready to go to sleep.” He answered. “Oh! Were you? I’m sorry good night!” *Door opens* “Huh?” she was surprise when the door suddenly opened. Raven went out and embraced his mother tightly. “Good night mom.” “Good night dear.” She replied. He went back to his room and lay on his bed thinking of the things that he is really looking forward to. [I can’t believe I can finally join the academy. I can’t wait to see what the kids my age are learning. I’m so excited I can’t sleep.] he thought as he reach out his arm to the ceiling. [Wait,-*sigh* I forgot that I no longer need sleep. What a bummer. Now I’ll just have to wait for the night to pass eh?] he thought as bang his palms to his face. [I’m really a scatter head. I wonder what Aranx is doing now. I wish he is not laughing at me. He did say something about returning to the world of immortals right?] he told himself while scanning his memories for the details. [This is ridiculous, even my memory is as clear as day whenever I try to recall something. Am I still a human?] he thought as he pull his sleeve to see the mark that Aranx gave him. [Anyway, tomorrow is my first step on the road to my sole purpose in coming to this world. I hope everything goes well. Let us just close our eyes, maybe we can get some sleep, not that think I would though.] Everything was quite when Raven closed his eyes hoping he can go to sleep this time. His mother is already sleeping after washing all of the things they bought and [Yes, this is it. I can feel myself getting sleepy. Yes! At last! Good bye sleepless body!] he smiled as he roll over. A long time have passed since Raven closed his eyes. Birds chirp and a rooster crow. *Chirp!* *Chirp!* *Chirp!* Flap! Flap! Flap! *Rooster crows* [Yes! I did it! I actually slept! It’s definitely morning now. I can hear the birds chirping and a rooster crowing!] he instantly opened his eyes and turned to the window. [Like hell I did!] he cried internally while staring at the window as the birds build their nest on the ceiling. “Honey make that rooster stop crowing. It is still midnight, you are going to confuse our neighbors with your rooster.” He heard the faint voice of the owner of the rooster that crowed telling his wife to stop the rooster from crowing. His eye brows twitch in irritation after learning that he only closed his eyes for three minutes. (Actually three minutes and thirty-four seconds.) [Argh!] He scratch his head like a mad man then his eyes stumbled upon the clothes that he and his mother brought earlier. [Why not make this things a lot better? I should test what Aranx showed me on how to make clothes since I will always have a lot of free time. Argh! I feel so betrayed. Those freaking animals. What kind of bird makes a nest at the dead of the night and a rooster crowing at the same time?!] (I have heard roosters crow a couple of times, so I tried to insert that experience to give this a little funny moment. And the birds that creates the nest, I just made that up.) [This goes here, and this thing there. ………….] After a few hours of trying to do what exactly Aranx showed him, Raven finally achieved the perfection he wants to completely make what Aranx did. [Tada! Finally done!] he told himself as he raise the cloth with his arms. [That took longer than I expected-] His thought halted after he saw the sun rising up in the sky. [This time it is really morning right? What a surprise. I didn’t think it would take the whole evening just to finish a single cloth.] he thought as he stare at the cloth in his hands. [Not bad huh, Aranx have such as skill in tapestry. Is he a tailor in the immortal world?] (Immortal world = heavens) [I should get ready to bring some meat again, I think I will have to bring a whole lot more today since I might not have the chance to go to the ruins to hunt the next few days.] He told himself as he change his clothes for hunting. [We don’t want to dirty these do we?] It was still very early when he went down, he seasoned the food before leaving and left the fire in low heat to make it perfectly cooked. [That’s everything, now it is time to go hunting.] his eyes glimmer with excitement. “I will be back.” He whispered softly. *Opens the door* *Creak* The door made a creaking sound as Raven slowly closed the door trying not to wake his mother up. [Meanwhile at the academy] “The tear of the gods broke? That has never happened before right?” a man with a rowdy tone said. “That is strange, the tear of the gods is an instrument that have been in service after the war for almost three hundred years. There is no way that it just happened to break now of all times.” Said another man with a muffled voice. The elder men sat on a pentagon shape table with five chair in every sides. Two seats are empty and the other three are taken with Elder Rigor de Vancsu at the center and the other two facing his direction. “I thought this was an Elders’ meeting but why are they not here?” “The matter with the tear of the gods sure is important bot so do the request of the king. And the tear of the gods can be replaced, but if we decline the request of the king, our reputation might pay for it handsomely.” Elder Rigor explained in a stern tone. “I heard about it from my assistant. Elder____ went to the castle to teach the entire royal family since they held us with high regard while Elder ____ was invited to a gathering in the kingdom of the sea as the representative of our kingdom. I wonder why Elder Yasrat did not get notified, don’t tell me your assistant got drunk in the brothel and slept with women again.” Elder Yasrat’s eyes suddenly become fierce and gaze arrogantly towards the criticizing elder. [This loud mouth punk, if you were not one of us, I might have killed you already.] he thought as he look away from the elder’s eye. “I will give him an earful after this meeting so do not worry about him.” He promised in a harsh tone. “I doubt that you would do that since this has already happened for a lot of times now.” The other elder added while staring intently to Elder Yasrat. [You can’t convince me with that spineless promise like you just did, like father like son after all.] he thought as he glance at Elder Rigor. “This is why it is not really appropriate to include a family member in an organization as important as this. Since the revival of the demon lord is getting closer, we can’t afford to pamper everyone who slack off in duty. The relay of any information is very crucial to us. Imagine if another kingdom is about to wage a war against us, imagine if a high ranking official did not pass an important information to the others. What would be the outcome?” Elder Yasrat’s face turned red in anger, his breathing started to get heavy and Elder Rigor notices that and decided to stop it before it gets even worse than it is. “Please stop here Elder Nuu, I think we understand your point and I’m sure Elder Yasrat know about how important the relay of information is.” Elder Rigor said as he look at Elder Yasrat. [This slippery tongue bastard! I am going to get you for this, just you wait for me.] Elder Yasrat thought to himself. His breathing got even heavier as he sweats continuously in his forehead and chin while using every ounce of his sanity and strength from releasing his anger to the other elder who trying to make his blood boil. “I am very sorry Elder Rigor if I am a bit critical at it but if that is what you say then I will no longer pursue this issue any more.” He said as he put up both of his hands in the air. “Then that is all for today, I will personally test the new student since we still have to make a new instrument for measuring mana. Anyone of you want to come along?” Elder Rigor said in a gentle tone. [That student might have destroyed the instrument or maybe a coincidence that it just broke on itself but I can’t just turn a blind eye to someone who might be an enemy like this one beside me.] Elder Nuu thought as he raised his hands. “I got a bit of free time today since I gave an errand for my assistant, so I’ll just have to wait before she returns. And it is a perfect time to see what the new student can offer.” He said as he stood from his seat. “Then I will be leaving first, elders. I’ll go grab some tea before the test. Excuse me.” He added as he bid good bye to the other elders in the room. *Step* *Step* *Step* *Opens and closes the door.* [I really hate that bastard, talking s**t to me knowing full well how cruel I can be.] he told himself as he bit his lip in anger. Elder Rigor saw his furious state and tries to calm him down. ‘Please do not think ill of Elder Nuu, everyone in our organization is on the edge lately because of the recent prophesy and maybe somehow he might have has the taste of fear that the demon lord will revive in his lifetime and that it made him more cautious. Please cease doing anything that is not good for our organization, it will always affect our well-being. Then I will take my leave, Elder Yasrat.” He explained as he waves good bye to the other elder. “Take care Elder Rigor.” He replied. [Somehow his anger subsided that he made a reply, he went awfully silent while taking the heat from Elder Nuu’s lecture. I take it that he went silent to prevent himself from exploding in anger. I hope both of them realize that everyone is an ally that we need to take good care as well.] he thought as he close the door of the room.
