Bethany’s rooms were at the southern end of Fore Street, opposite Nicholas Priory—a Benedictine Abbey built about a thousand years before and thankfully not bombed in the Blitz as it afforded Bethany a charming outlook of rustic stonemasonry, which she said atoned for the fact that she was sandwiched between a tattoo parlour and a vintage record store.
