The heavy, chilling energy wasn’t far away, only half a league at most. She directed her full attention to the area, and alongside the demon's touch, detected a delicate sweetness that turned sharply sour the more she tried to close in on it.
‘I think I have found the flowers. They are in that direction,' she said, coming back to herself and pointing southwards where more ruins could be seen in the distance. She checked her calf. 'If we can find some food and recover our strength tonight, then we can venture over there in the morning. I should be able to walk by then.'
'Then that is what we will do,' Kai said. He stood up, offering Yusumi a hand. 'Will you help me forage?'
'Of course. Though I need to hunt something for Jidan. I don't think eating plants will help him much.'
